The English translation of the chapters can be a bit of a puzzle to put together. The main story follows the webnovel 'World's Apocalypse Online' on sites like Webnovel, and that's the core sequence. I found out the hard way that you should absolutely read the main story before touching any of the sidestories or extras.
There's a bunch of side content labelled as 'Apocalypse Games' or character-specific stories that chronologically slot in at different points, but they'll spoil major plot twists if you read them out of order. The fan wiki has a rough timeline, but even that's not perfect. My advice? Stick to the chapter numbers on the official translation platform; they usually keep things in the intended narrative flow, even if the upload dates were messy.

Read the main series first. All of it. Then, if you really love the world, you can seek out the side stories and prequels. The 'Immortal Demon Universe' arc especially assumes you know the end-game power levels and jokes. Jumping into those early would make zero sense and drain all the suspense from the main storyline.

Honestly, I gave up on a perfect order. The translations from Chinese to English are scattered across different sites, and some aggregators have chapters completely scrambled. I just read the main story on one semi-reliable site until I caught up. The lore is so dense with system messages, skill unlocks, and faction wars that adding the stress of hunting down the 'correct' sequence wasn't worth it for me. The core plot of Chu Feng navigating the game-like apocalypse is straightforward enough to follow even with some minor discontinuities.

WAO's reading order is basically release order. The author wrote the main serial linearly. Just go from Chapter 1 onward. Where it gets tricky is with the so-called 'special chapters' or 'bonus stories'—those are often flashbacks or alternate POVs for events you've already read. I ignore those until I finish the main arc I'm on, then I'll circle back if I'm still hungry for more. Trying to integrate them in 'chronological' order on a first read totally ruins the pacing the author intended.

An apocalypse driven by natural disasters.
Survival of the fittest.
Typhoons, floods, deadly cold, scorching heat, earthquakes, tsunamis, insect plagues, acid rain…
After struggling through three years of the apocalypse, Nicole Floyd met a brutal death. Miraculously, she woke up and found herself three days before it all began.
Nicole seized the advantage to reclaim her storage space, flipping the switch on full-on stockpiling mode. She shopped until she ran out of money, and her storage was packed tight.
She also looked for the dog that had saved her life once before.
She sharpened her knives, stacked her supplies, and took care of unfinished business. She paid back every debt, whether owed in blood or in kindness.
And then, disaster struck.
Her right hand gripping a knife and her left stroking the dog, Nicole pressed on through the ruins of a world without order or morals.
When the apocalypse struck, Ray Morley was brutally murdered and eaten by his wife's family.
Only in his dying moments did he learn the cruel truth—his beloved son wasn't his own flesh and blood. He had been nothing more than a pathetic stand-in, a fool used and discarded.
But fate gave him another chance. Reborn three months before the end of the world, Ray awakened to find himself in possession of an enormous, otherworldly storage space.
This time, he wasted no time—he divorced his venomous wife, won a massive lottery prize, stormed into the stock market, and earned billions. He built fortified shelters and hoarded mountains of supplies.
In this new life, he would make his ex-wife and her family pay—every last one of them. No more groveling. No more weakness. This time, Ray would rise above it all.
Savage Sons Mc books 1-5 is a collection of MC romance stories which revolve around five key characters and the women they fall for.
Havoc -
A sweet like honey accent and a pair of hips I couldn’t keep my eyes off. That’s how it started.Darcie Summers was playing the part of my old lady to keep herself safe but we both know it’s more than that. There’s something real between us.Something passionate and primal.Something my half brother’s stupidity will rip apart unless I can get to her in time.
Cyber - Everyone has that ONE person that got away, right?
The one who you wished you had treated differently.
For me, that girl has always been Iris.So when she turns up on Savage Sons territory needing help, I am the man for the job.
Every time I look at her I see the beautiful girl I left behind but Iris is no longer that girl.
What I put into motion years ago has shattered her into a million hard little pieces.
And if I’m not careful they will cut my heart out.
Fang-The first time I saw her, she was sat on the side of the road drinking whiskey straight from the bottle.
The second time was when I hit her dog.
I had promised myself never to get involved with another woman after the death of my wife.
But Gypsy was different.
Sweeter, kinder and with a mouth that could make a sailor blush.
She was also too good for me.
I am Fang, President of the Savage Sons. I am not a good man, I’ve taken more lives than I care to admit even to myself.
But I’m going to keep her anyway.
In a world fractured by the "Gray Death," the end didn't come with a whimper, but with the rise of the Beastkin predatory survivors with the strength of monsters and the hearts of kings.
Rhea, a trauma intern turned scavenger, has learned the hard way that mercy is a luxury the ruins cannot afford. When she is betrayed by those she loved most and left for dead in a crumbling bakery, her only companion is a soot-covered stranger she pulled from the rubble of Sector 4. She thinks she’s saving a nameless survivor. She has no idea she is nursing the Ghost King back to health.
Dominic is the Alpha of the Northern Citadel, an untouchable god of war hunted by his own kind. Broken and hiding behind a mask of amnesia, he watches the woman who saved him with a growing, predatory hunger. She is the "Diamond in the Ash," the same girl who held his hand in a dark pharmacy three years ago when the world first burned.
As the heat between them ignites into a passion that threatens to consume the ruins, the shadows are closing in. While Rhea drowns her sorrows in vintage wine and dreams of a touch she thinks she’ll never have, Dominic’s "Men in Black" are quietly securing her borders.
He came to find a traitor, but he found a Queen. Now, the Alpha will stop at nothing to reclaim his throne and build a new kingdom, one where the woman who showed him mercy finally gets the crown she deserves.
He’s a King in hiding. She’s a healer with a broken heart. Together, they are the apocalypse’s last hope.

"Who needs love when I can see the future?"
After being betrayed by my boyfriend and best friend, I died and then woke up five years into the past, bound to a mysterious system.
The quest my System gave me—just two weeks before the zombie apocalypse—was simple: find the most dangerous man in the city and make him my protector.
Unfortunately, that man is a psychopath. A mad dog everyone fears... and the only person capable of keeping me alive.
With Foresight, a pocket dimension, and memories of the world's end, I intend to rewrite my fate.
As long as I survive him first.
When the apocalypse came, she lost everything. Starving, hunted, and desperate, she trusted the one man she loved… only for him to betray her in the cruelest way possible. He stole her last supplies to please another woman and left her to die in a sea of the undead.
But death wasn’t the end.
She woke up days before the world collapsed.
After cutting ties with her ungrateful ex and his parasitic family, a mysterious voice awakens in her mind, LUS, a Level-Up System designed to help her survive the coming end.
With knowledge of the future and a system guiding her every move, she begins to prepare. She stockpiles resources, builds a base, and learns how to fight back against the horrors that once destroyed her.
And when the apocalypse arrives again… she’s ready. But survival isn’t the only thing waiting for her in this new life.
A silent killer who watches her like prey.
A manipulative genius who wants to unravel her secrets.
A gentle protector who sees the girl she hides.
And a dangerous man who thrives in chaos.
As the world burns and power shifts, they’re all drawn to her, each with their own motives, each with their own darkness. Even her past refuses to stay buried.
Because now, the man who once abandoned her is back, broken, desperate, and begging for a second chance. Too bad she has no time for regrets.
Not when she’s busy rising to power… and building a kingdom in the ruins of the world.
Man, I totally get the struggle of finding legal sources for novels like 'World's Apocalypse Online'—it's such a gem, and supporting the creators is super important! If you're looking for official translations, Webnovel is usually the go-to platform for many Chinese web novels. They’ve got a pretty extensive library, and while some chapters might be locked behind paywalls, they often offer free daily passes or promotions. I’ve spent way too many late nights binge-reading there, and the app is surprisingly user-friendly.
Another solid option is checking out Qidian International, which is basically the official English branch of the original Chinese platform. They sometimes host novels like this, though the availability can vary. I’d also recommend keeping an eye on Amazon Kindle or Google Play Books; a lot of web novels get officially published there in volumes. It’s not always the fastest way to read, but buying the e-books is a great way to support the author directly. Plus, the translations tend to be polished and consistent, which is a huge plus for immersion.
Oh, and don’t forget to peek at the novel’s official social media or author’s page if they have one—sometimes they drop links to lesser-known platforms or crowdfunding campaigns for official translations. I remember stumbling upon a Patreon for one of my favorite novels once, and it felt like hitting the jackpot. Anyway, happy reading, and hope you find a legit source that works for you!
Anyone new to this series probably gets thrown by the 'read by volume' vs. 'read by magazine chapter' debate. I started with the physical volumes as they came out, and I think that's still the absolute best way. The story flows perfectly that way, with the artist's intended pacing and those great volume extras.
Jumping around the early digital chapters online can mess with the experience because some sites have them in a weird order. Just grab volume 1 of the manga and go from there. The anime adaptation is decent for the broad strokes, but it rearranges some early arcs and adds filler, so the books are the definitive version. If you get hooked, the reading order becomes a non-issue—you'll just be desperate for the next volume.
Alright, so I see this asked a lot and the answer can be a bit of a rabbit hole. The core sequence everyone agrees on is starting with 'I Shall Seal the Heavens'. That's the gateway drug for most of us. It establishes the fundamental mechanics and the sheer, glorious absurdity of the genre in a way that's just incredibly fun.
After that, things branch. 'A Will Eternal' comes next chronologically in the shared universe, following a side character from ISSTH, and it's a hilarious change of pace with a cowardly protagonist. Then you have 'A World Worth Protecting', which is more of a distant spiritual successor with modern/sci-fi twists. Some folks swear by reading them in publication order to catch the author's evolving style, but honestly, jumping from ISSTH to 'A Will Eternal' feels the most natural because of the direct character link.
Man, I love apocalyptic fiction—it's like a guilty pleasure wrapped in existential dread! 'The End of the World: Stories of the Apocalypse' is such a gripping anthology, and I totally get why you'd want to read it online. While I can't link anything sketchy, I’d suggest checking if your local library offers digital loans via apps like Libby or Hoopla. Sometimes, publishers also release free samples or older editions legally.
If you’re into similar vibes, 'World War Z' or 'Station Eleven' have parts floating around in previews. Just be wary of dodgy sites; nothing ruins the end of the world like malware. Also, indie authors on platforms like Wattpad often write killer apocalypse shorts—worth a deep dive while you hunt for the main title!
