Okay, the practical answer: They're separate books focusing on one cat's life, usually spanning many moons. They intersect with main series events occasionally, like showing what Bramblestar was doing during a certain arc from his perspective in 'Bramblestar's Storm.' These intersections are cool Easter eggs for dedicated readers. But if you never read a super edition, you won't miss a pivotal main-series plot point. They're for deepening, not for completing, the story.

They're the 'what if' stories. What if we followed this one cat for their whole life? That's the premise of every super edition. Their fit is experimental. They allow the writers to tell a complete, contained story in a universe usually devoted to open-ended serialized arcs. In that sense, they're a refreshing change of format for both the authors and the readers.

Super editions are basically character-focused expansions. They don't advance the main plot of the arcs, but they provide crucial backstory and motivation. Think of them as standalone novels that exist in the same universe. If you read 'Firestar's Quest' right after the first series, it feels like a direct sequel to his journey, but it's technically a super edition. The boundaries can blur, which is why some fans argue about where they 'fit.' Ultimately, they enrich the world, but you won't be lost in the main books if you skip them.

They're background lore dumps in the best way. Ever wonder how the clans settled at the lake? 'Dawn of the Clans' is a prequel arc, but super editions like 'Moth Flight's' delve into the early medicine cat role. They fit by building the foundation the main series stands on. You don't need the foundation to enjoy the house, but it explains why the walls are sturdy and where the cracks came from.

The community is split. Some insist on a blended chronological order, interleaving super editions with main books. Others say publication order is king. I fall into a third camp: mood reading. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a big, generational saga (a super edition), and sometimes I want the propulsive plot of the main arcs. Their 'fit' is flexible, based on your reading mood at the time.

This is a three part series all in one place.
Skylar just wants to be an asset to her pack. She's the daughter of the Beta and her brother is set to take the title after graduation. Her father wants nothing to do with her and is constantly belittling the things she does accomplish. She is the top of her class at school and the top warrior, but no one knows because she hides in the shadows as much as possible. Her bullies torture her, but never get caught. She takes them on time and time again though to protect other innocent members of her pack. Her brother and his friends ignore her existence and all she wants to do is get out of a pack that doesn't seem to want her and become an Elite Warrior for the Alpha King. She wants to feel wanted and accepted somewhere. Her whole world changes when a new girl shows up and decides to befriend Skylar after an intense training session. She brings Skylar out of the shadows and brings to light the darker side of pack members and pack culture. Can Skylar get past her past and live the life she wants?
Cara Nelson is the daughter of two Guardians. Her mother gave her life saving the pack’s Luna and their young son, Rik, the future alpha. Her father became paralyzed while protecting the pack’s Alpha. Cara is meant to become the Guardian for Rik when he takes over as Alpha, but Rik doesn’t even know who she is.
When the Alpha of a neighboring pack expresses his desire to take her as his mate, Cara gets caught in a battle between Alphas. Both of them want her as their Luna, but is it only because she is a Guardian who can strengthen their pack?
While balancing her attraction to two alphas, she finds her destiny may not be as clear as she thought. Rather than her wolf having the soul of a reborn guardian like her mother and father, Cara learns that she and her wolf are the only ones in history known to have been born a guardian.
When a third contender for Cara’s hand tries to force her to become his Luna, her Alphas must rescue her before it's too late. Cara is destined to be a Luna, but will it be by force, by fate, or will she make her own choice?
This is Book One of the Guardian trilogy.
Four Brothers. Four Stories. One Pack. Kai, Konstantin, Dimitri and Nikolai - The Volkov Brothers rule New York, not only as a Russian Mafia family but also as The BloodCrest Pack.
Book one follows Alpha Kai, known as the Beast Of New York, Russian Mafia leader and Alpha of the Blood Crest pack - and he's come to claim timid and abused Caterina as his mate. Terrible rumours surround Kai and his pack of bloodthirsty wolves, but as Caterina gets to know her mate better and realises that he is not the monster he is made out to be. So what exactly turned Kai into the beast he's known as?
In Book 2 we meet Konstantin, known as The Heartless Beta. He never cared for love or finding his mate as the Beta to the Alpha God. Who needs a mate when you have a pack to protect? However, when scentless, halfbreed Lily stepped into his life, everything seemed to fall into place. What will Konstantin do once he discovers the scentless, half breed wolf is pregnant with his prophesied firstborn and has been his mate all along...And she's being held prisoner by a creature even older than the Werewolf God Xamnir?
Book 3 Parts 1 and 2 sees Nikolai and Dimitri both thinking that keeping away from their fated mates during the war is what’s best for them. But is their willpower stronger than Fate? Staring at temptation for so long will only make you crave it more, this is something both Nikolai and Dimitri will find out soon enough.
This is a book of shifter short stories. All of these stories came from readers asking me to write stories about animals they typically don't see as shifters.

Raw heat. Primal hunger. The kind of surrender that tastes like release.
Innocence devoured. Control shattered. Pleasure so deep, you'll lose yourself and not want to be found.
No warnings. No escape. No regrets.
Indulge in the expansive “Warrior Cats” series! Over a long series, Erin Hunter Spring of creative work six main ones, all of them prints in six. However, chevrons and shurikens! In an eight-year span, these come out like “Super Editions.”
Novellas contain new information about old characters. Some portions of the manga have not appeared in English. Around the block, more than seventy paw-licking tales to get your fangs into! So why not sample this lyfea-feline adventure, where a society of wild cats works for the common good.
The 'Warrior Cats' series is absolutely massive, and I love how it just keeps expanding! Last I checked, there are over 90 books if you count all the main arcs, super editions, novellas, and manga. The main series alone has six arcs, each with six books—that’s 36 right there. Then you’ve got the super editions, which are like deep dives into individual characters, and there are around 15 of those. The novellas and manga add another 30 or so. It’s wild how Erin Hunter (which is actually a collective pseudonym for multiple authors) has built this sprawling feline universe. I got hooked years ago when a friend lent me 'Into the Wild,' and now my bookshelf is basically a shrine to ThunderClan.
What’s cool is how the series keeps evolving. New arcs like 'The Broken Code' and 'A Starless Clan' keep the lore fresh while tying back to earlier events. And the manga adaptations? Perfect for fans who want more visual storytelling. Honestly, catching up feels like a marathon, but it’s one I’m happy to run—even if my non-fan friends side-eye my collection.
Wow, the 'Warrior Cats' series is such a sprawling universe—it’s almost like trying to count stars in the sky! Last I checked, there are over 90 books split into multiple arcs, standalones, and super editions. The main series alone has six arcs with six books each, plus a seventh arc that’s shorter. Then you’ve got the super editions, which dive deep into individual cats’ backstories, and novellas that tie loose ends together. I love how Erin Hunter (fun fact: it’s a pen name for a team of writers!) keeps expanding the world. My bookshelf is practically a tribute to these feline warriors at this point.
If you’re new to the series, I’d recommend starting with 'Into the Wild,' the first book in the original arc. It hooks you instantly with Firepaw’s journey from kittypet to ThunderClan hero. The later arcs explore new generations and conflicts, so there’s always fresh drama. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve reread them—each book feels like visiting old friends, even if those friends are constantly battling badgers or dealing with clan politics.
