Noya's pov
By the time we got to the Pack, it was dark and my whole body ached from being tied up and manhandled by Alpha Niklaus' angry guards. Wrapping my arms around my frame, I darted my eyes around the strange room which was now mine and thick dread engulfed me.
What if I was killed before dawn? Fluttering my eyes close, I curled into a ball on the bed by a corner of the small room. Tears seeped through the corners of my eyelids, flowing down my cheeks as my stomach growled in severe hunger but I didn't dare say a word, instead, I turned on my side. This was my life now. A life full of misery.
My wrists were covered in red marks and my fingers were stiff from how tightly my nails had dug into my skin in an attempt to stop myself from doing something I shouldn’t have been able to do.
The only thing that made things worse was my inability to move my arms much at all without feeling as if my muscles had been pulled every time my head was moved even an inch.
The guards had been cruel and rough with their grip on my thin limbs. When they shoved me roughly into my room, my ribs cracked painfully against the wall of the crate and it took every last ounce of strength not to yell out in pain. My whole body hurt from being dragged all the way to the work yard but the pain was nothing compared to the agony I felt inside.
I would never see any of my family members. And the stark reality that I was all alone in this world save Elvis who could have suffered a malevolent fate at the hands of Alpha Niklaus' sword too.
The clanking of the steel locks pulled me out of my reverie and immediately I wiped the dry streaks of tears from my face and I sat up.
"Arthur, what is it?" I heard the big burly guard who had nothing but smother me with his eyes say.
"The Alpha demands that the prisoner is brought to his inner chambers immediately." A strange voice replied, causing dread to fill me up.
My heartbeats thumped hard and fast in my chest as I gulped hard. I jumped up immediately and huddled towards a corner, wrapping my hands around herself in a protective manner as if that would help me.
A shudder coursed through my spine as he let himself in and strode into the dim-lit room with a sinister smile on his face.
"Someone is scared." He released a rumble of laughter while scanning the room for me.
He finally laid his eyes on me
"You can't run from the Alpha, princess. It is finally time." He announced.
Everything was happening so fast. What could I do? I clutched the hem of my gown while wrapping my head around the sudden announcement.
My heart pounded in my chest when he spoke those dreadful words. I clenched my fists to prevent them from fidgeting. My nightmare was fast becoming a reality. I had expected him to call for me but not this early.
I felt cold sweat dripping down my spine and a knot tightening in my stomach. I could hear my own breath coming in ragged bursts and saw the tips of my fingers turning white.
My heart raced in my chest as fear coursed through me. I swallowed as he approached me. It was too early. I wasn't prepared at all. I closed my eyes hoping this was all a dream.
Different terrible images conjured up in my brain as I wondered what the Alpha would do to me but I could not arrive at a befitting answer. What kind of punishment awaited me?
I could not submit to him as a sex slave which left the other option - Or did he expect me to submit to him willingly after all? A fate much worse than death. I wondered whether it was possible to die while still alive or even if I might not die but only become part of his pack.
The guard pulled me up by my wrist. Cuffing my wrists together, he nudged me out of the room. Heralded side by side with each unsmiling guard, I followed their lead out of the work yard while different questions acted as my invisible companions.
On our way back, the guards had nothing but to supply me with Alpha Niklaus' ruthless tales and now I was being summoned to his room.
They led me through a well-lit labyrinth which was so beautiful. The walls were painted with vibrant colors, the floor covered in rich carpeting and in many places, the ceiling had elaborate carvings or intricate frescoes. I got mesmerized in its ambiance while staring.
I couldn't help but gape. It had been built out of white marble which seemed to glow in the soft light and there were even plants hanging in the air like delicate silver bells. The hallways curved gracefully around me until they disappeared into some sort of natural cave system, but there wasn't much time for exploring.
"Gather yourself together, I do not have time for this!" The big burly guard yanked me by the arm and shoved me ahead almost causing me to stumble.
When we got to the center of the large Packhouse, he stopped in his tracks and pointed a finger at the gigantic building before us. I gazed at it in awe while one of them pulled the door open and pushed me into the house before closing the door, leaving me dazed. I blinked twice in utter confusion.
Where was the Alpha's room? What was I to do next? None of them had even bothered to brief me on it which left me confused.
'Dear Moon Goddess, please help me.' I prayed inwardly as I walked towards my right, hoping that for my sake it was the right path.
Author's POVImmediately she swirled around to realise that it was Beta Rowan, her breath hitched in her throat but she had slowly maneuvered him from the truth. As she watched him retreat to go welcome the Alpha, relief flooded the banks of her soul. She was happy that she got over it quickly. She would have to be very careful around him. With the look he gave her, it was as if he didn't believe her however he had no proof to pin on her.Welldone Cataliya! She didn't have to wait for his order to go back to her room. If he hadn't caught her, immediately the bell dinged twelve, she would have gone back. Although she wanted to live a secure life and she had given Sherry her word, that would not be possible if the Alpha caught her.In Fact she would be far away from living a secure life. In as much as she was thinking about Sherry's interest, she had to think of her life too. It mattered much more than anything else. She turned her neck towards the deep once more but there was still not
Author's POVInhaling the cold evening breeze, Beta Rowan crossed his arms over each other as he strode around the Pack. On days like these when Niklaus wasn't around, he had to be at alert to ensure that the Pack and Packhouse were safe.Although there were soldiers at the border, Rowan still couldn't let their guard down. It was very risky especially since they had a lot of enemies and friends likewise however due to the deep fear the other surrounding Packs had for Niklaus, it was more of respect and fear. No one dared cross his path because they knew the consequences. "Good even, Beta." Two guards on patrol greeted him."Good evening Ethan. Good evening Jeffrey. How are you today?" He offered them a smile."We are doing good, thank you." They offered him a smile."Were you able to rest during the day in preparation for night patrol?" "Yes." Jeffrey replied."Alright then. Goodnight." He patted them and waved them off.A smile formed on Rowan's face as he ascended the tower slowl
Author's POVThe crescent moon hung up in the dark blue sky illuminating the dark path that led up to the top of the tall tower. The air was chilly as it brushed against her cheeks and on her bare arms were goosebumps raising from the chill and the night wind blew softly against her face. Her feet were already cold and numb in her boots and she shivered involuntarily and pulled a blanket tighter around herself. There was no one else out here at this hour and there wasn’t any reason to be out of her room in the middle of the night. Maybe not to the devil but to Sherry, the woman who had set her sights on the Alpha and was willing to do anything to make him hers. The crickets and the bell chimes seemed so loud but the silence didn’t bother her so much as the fact that she couldn’t hear anything especially when she had sold her soul to the devil. She strode towards the labyrinth. She paused and darted her eyes around to observe her surroundings carefully. She knew this was risky but sh
Noya's povHe gently pushed me towards the bed and kissed me with a great fervency. I kissed him back hungrily, desperately. It was a kiss of hunger and desire. My lips were hungry for his kisses, my body for his touches, my love for him, all my love for him. My body yearned for his touch, my soul yearned for him. And he returned my passion in an equally desperate way. We needed each other so much, we couldn't control it.As he pinned me beneath him and kissed me with such fervour, I thought my heart would stop from the sheer joy of being alive. My fingers trailed up and down his strong, muscled back as I pressed myself against him.He made a low groan. The warmth of his skin against mine made my head reel. As he kissed my neck and shoulder, I could feel myself getting hotter and wetter. As he sucked at my neck and bit it lightly I gasped and felt a wave of warmth flood over me. His touch burned and my heart thundered. My mind spun with pleasure as I ran my fingers through his hair
Author's POV"My lady, your-""Get out!" Sherry raged in anger as she sat up on the bed.The maid scurried out of the room immediately like a scared rat. Her nasty temper had aggravated since she got back from Nik's Pack even her father felt the terrible brunt of it.She looked around wildly until her eyes fell upon the large window that dominated the front of their room. She'd forgotten to close it last night and now it stood open with its curtains flapping in the cold autumn breeze. The late morning light streamed into the room and shone on the floor. Food was the last thing on her mind especially when she had barely slept a wink the night before. That could wait while she set her other plans in motion. She could only eat well when she got rid of Noya.Ruffling her hair in anger, she groaned and leaned back on the bed. Waiting for feedback from her spy in the Packhouse was as frustrating as hell but in order for her plans to work out perfectly, she knew she had to wait. But this wa
Noya's POV"This is beautiful” I breathed out softly. “Let's go sit under the tree by the pond.” He tugged gently on my hand until I turned and started following him down towards the stream, where I saw our spot. I smiled as he took my hand again and led me over to the small clearing where there was a large oak tree with a wide branch extending downwards over the water. We sat down, leaning back against it. It looked much easier than walking over a lot of rocky ground, but the fact of the matter remained that it did take us quite some time to get this far so I didn't complain. I could see the light reflecting off the trees when a stray breeze pushed through some of the canopy. It felt like being in another world. I thought that perhaps I should call it magical, but really, I just felt happy that there we were alone. The sun was warm on the top of our heads, and I was content. The weather was perfect. My heart thumped with pleasure as I snuggled against his warmth.Nik wrapped
