First

Blue's first day with Mr Robinson, the music tutor, wasn't really going well — just as Sydney had forewarned. Mr Robinson's temper was totally 'unpredictable'. One minute he's boxed up, the other he's flaring up at every little thing.

To be on his safe side, she kept on smiling whenever he dished out instructions to her — she eventually got tired of it!

Mr Robinson seemed to be unmoved by his bad temper towards her, despite the fact that she hadn't used more than three hours with him.

Presently at the lunch hour, instead of giving her a bit of free time, he chose to sit her down, asking questions upon questions just to know how much she knows about music. Luckily, she was able to tackle all the questions... leading to more being poured in. She couldn't deny the fact that she wasn't pleased with his actions. Did he forget it was her first day?

'Why did they even assign me to such a man? This is insane. Makes me begin to regret why I'm here in the first place.' she thought, as she was getting tired of listening to his present lecture-like talk.

"Miss Alfred, are you even listening at all?"

Mr Robinson's voice immediately discarded the thought going on in her mind. She looked at him, noticing a slight look of disgust on his face — obviously because he realized she wasn't paying attention to all what he was saying to her.

"Oh, yes sir." she said, trying to look composed.

"So, as I was saying," he started speaking again, "I would like you to prepare a draft on any piece of music. This is just to prove how good you are. Yes, your credentials show you might be a good catch but you see, music isn't just about songs and paperwork... It's about feeling. You need to let them feel your music. That's the basic thing you should know."

Blue nodded, trying to contemplate his words. What draft does he want me to prepare again? And why is he trying to be a motivational speaker?, she mentally questioned.

He continued, "In my eighteen years of being a music teacher, i've learnt a lot. You start teaching music with questions like 'Will they understand me?', 'Am i passing anything to them?' and other bothersome questions. But in time, with the right practice and everything well balanced, they will eventually feel the music you're teaching them... that's if you put in your best."

'Now he's sounding more like a motivational speaker', she mocked inwardly. 'Feel the Music. I'm sure going to make them feel it. Mr Robinson, you aren't that bad after all,' she thought.

"No music lessons today, but you'll be having a mini-lesson with me. It's the needful. I need to access your present capability," Mr Robinson finally told her, leaving a soft grunt escaping her lips.

It's lunch hour, Mister!

Gary eventually got to the cafeteria. But, he saw a setting he didn't like a tiny bit, immediately resulting to a change of countenance. Henry was sitting with a lady and they were both chatting, obviously unaware of his presence as he walked towards them.

He had a reason to have a look of disdain on his face... a big reason. The lady presently sitting with Henry was someone he hardly wishes to relate with. Maybe it was due to the way the lady always size him up, or the clingy attitude she portrays towards him.

Well, the lady was Laura... his classmate and best academic student who has an average height, a nice shape, good looks and a structure which could rival that of a model.

Definitely, she was graced with a ladylike feature since a very young age, not to talk of her vast academic knowledge. But what was really surprising to him was why she was so into him or 'all over him', as he would say.

He always wondered why she even liked him. They were entirely different and definitely not compatible. She was a genius, and he wasn't less than a dullard. He couldn't deny it that he wasn't into books, but what on earth did she see in him?! It couldn't be his physique, could it?

After noticing her seeming crush on him, he had always tried avoiding her on different occasions... maybe that would send a signal, but she obviously never seems to get the message.

Well, he couldn't care less – much less bother about such. It was a waste of time... he wasn't into love. But, what about that lady he saw earlier today? He wouldn't mind it with her— Stop it, stupid!, he mentally scolded himself.

As he got to their table, Laura stared at him intensely and then shot him a smile, making him even more upset. But he still managed to maintain a straight face.

"Hi, Gary," she sweetly let out.

"Hey, Laura," he replied, sounding a little cold. But it was obvious that Laura didn't take note of his tone. Could someone having a crush on you even take note of you being distant towards them? Hell No! The infatuation would have completely derailed them...

"Bro, sit." Henry hit the space near him which he squatted nervously. He wondered why Laura was still sitting with them because he could see her friends at one side of the cafeteria.

"So, what's up?" Laura asked him. He looked at her questioningly trying to decipher what she had asked him.

"What's up with what?" he raised a question with arched eyebrows.

"With you..." she told him, her gaze firmly on his face.

"Nothing's up with me Laura." he claimed. A slight anger had managed to build up in him, which made his expression unreadable. He was now filled with mixed feelings as he wondered what she was driving at.

Henry noticed the flow wasn't going quite alright, so he quickly intervened.

"Sorry bro, I kinda discussed your issue with Laura just before you came. But not to worry, she has come up with the best idea."

The bomb had already been ticked. This was the last thing he wanted to hear. He hated to be a topic for someone he had a bit of distaste for... and this includes the infatuated Laura. He stood up and faced Henry.

"You have no right whatsoever to tell my issues to anybody, no right at all!" he declared, unable to withhold the anger in him anymore.

"Hey! Chill bro, It hasn't gotten to that, has it?" Henry asked as he was taken aback at his reaction.

"It wouldn't have if you just simply kept her out of this," he shouted, slightly drawing attention to them.

Henry stood up as well. He was trying to comprehend why Gary was getting mad at him. This is just a simple matter, right? Or did Laura offend him in the past? Definitely not... Subconsciously, he casted a quick gaze on the now confused Laura before turning his attention back to Gary.

"Gary sit down, let's talk this out," Henry said and placed a hand on Gary's shoulder.

"Don't touch me!" Gary said and shoved Henry's hand away from him. His sudden outburst had made people in the cafeteria to entirely focus on them.

He gave both Henry and Laura a scornful look and started to walk out on them. That was unlike him...

"Gary... Gar... what the hell's wrong with you?" Henry called out to him as he was leaving, but he didn't reply and just walked out of the cafeteria.

Turning to Laura, Henry quickly spoke, "I'm sorry about what he did Laura. Let me go talk to him." He immediately rushed out of the cafeteria to catch up with Gary.
