"Gary, wait up!" Henry yelled while running after Gary. Gary totally ignored him, picking up the pace faster as he was already a few blocks away from getting to their class.
"Look I'm sorry man," Henry said as he caught up with him, "I didn't mean to do that. But why did you throw such a fit? It's just Laura, isn't it?""But that still doesn't mean you could mention anything to her," Gary replied, still maintaining a fast pace."I already said I'm sorry," Henry made a pout as he pleaded again.Gary stopped and turned to look at Henry with a slight growl. Stupid ass, he thought. He had it in mind to voice out how stupid Henry was for sharing his problems with Laura, but he just relaxed the tension going through him, revealing a calm expression after."I'm also sorry for walking out on you like that. I just don't buy the idea of you telling Laura about my problem. You know this isn't the first time you're doing such. It makes me more upset by even mentioning it." He looked annoyed and guilty at the same time."It's okay, man. I wasn't thinking... again." Henry declared. "But I think you went a little overboard this time...""Did I?""Sort of... you attracted quite a lot of attention in there,"Face palming himself, Gary groaned. He knew he might have acted out of impulse at the cafeteria. "Screw me!"Henry chuckled, "I wish I could,"Slowly, Gary took his palm off his face and stared at Henry disgustedly before letting out, "Eeeww! That's gross, man!""So, you wanna hear what Laura suggested?" Henry deviated the conversation."What was the so-great idea the all-knowing Laura gave?" Gary asked mockingly, laying emphasis on the 'so-great'."After school reading." Henry announced and this seemed to make Gary startled."Huhn? After school what?""Yeah, after school reading." Henry reiterated.He immediately tried to disagree. "I don't know if—"Henry quickly cut him off, "It's just going to be me, you and her. Maybe her friends might tag along, if they are interested though. Please don't let us misuse it, I might get the chance to talk to Stephanie that way," Henry looked innocent as he explained.Gary couldn't control it as he immediately erupted into laughter. He instantly grabbed why Henry would willingly want to do it. Surely, once Stephanie — his longtime secretly harbored crush — is involved, then he wouldn't think it twice.Henry watched confusingly, then smirked upon realizing the reason behind Gary's sudden laughter. Left with no choice, he had to just wait for him to stop. After a minute, Gary stopped laughing, his hand still on his stomach."You done?" Henry rolled his eyes as he asked. But Gary was snorting uncontrollably."Yeah, yeah. Stephanie's crush," Gary replied while trying to suppress the laughter that was about to evolve again, "little wonder you gave in to it."Henry playfully punched him on the shoulder and smiled. The mere mention of being called Stephanie's crush made him happy... No, glad. Literally the same thing, except in a deeper sense."So, you simply want me to help you with your love life huhn? Just so you can stare at Stephanie all day? Like seeing her in class isn't enough already..." Gary commented awkwardly."Just agree to it, will you...""Fine," Gary eventually agreed to it. 'If only you have the balls to strike a conversation with her,'"But you know Laura simply wants to take advantage of the situation right? Just to get closer to me... and I sure wouldn't want that to happen..." Gary stated."Yeah I know," Henry replied with a grin, "and we are going to take advantage of that!"Gary thought for a while. Just what does he mean? "And how are we gon do that? Isn't it only to favor your love interest?""Watch and learn brother. Watch and learn." Henry told him, "Let's go back to the cafeteria, I'm still hungry," Immediately, he started walking back to the cafeteria, not minding if Gary was tagging along.Gary looked at his retreating back as he wondered what he was up to. 'He had better not be thinking something crazy,' he thought, and immediately followed closely behind.* * * * * *
Thursday;
Blue was physically and mentally exhausted from the day's work as she got out of the music room. She was tired, obviously, and Mr Robinson had been making things quite difficult for her since day one. It was the fourth day of her internship, although she had managed to survive Mr Robinson's temperament for the first few days, she feared if it would be for long.With Sydney's help, she had been able to familiarize with some of the other members of staff, building a slow friendship with two other interns.Right from the first day, the principal always made sure to have a ten minutes meeting with all the interns after school hours and today wasn't exempted. He had announced that it would last for this week only and thankfully, a day was left for it to come to an end.Blue wearily dragged herself to the general staff room where the meeting was to be held. After a sort of stressful day, all she wanted was to go home to get a nap, but that would obviously have to wait."Blue!"She heard her name being called just as she was about to enter the room. She turned around to check who had called her. Her eyes landed on Sydney, who was walking up to her alongside a tall fit man she wasn't familiar with. The man's tall height was a huge contrast to Sydney's short one."What's up Sydney?" she greeted in a familiar tone soon as Sydney and the unknown man got to her."You're going in for the meeting, right?" Sydney inquired."Uhn uhn," Blue affirmed."Okay. Meet Jacob, he's the physical education teacher and a good friend of mine. Or maybe I could say my best friend." explained Sydney, apparently referring to the tall man beside her.Jacob, the newly introduced man or teacher, smiled and stretched out his hand towards Blue for an handshake. Blue willingly accepted and studied him for awhile.By looking at his body structure, she noticed he has a physique which was a clear substitute for an athlete's. That should explain why he's the physical education teacher, she deduced.She shifted her gaze straight to his face and realized it was broad — just the perfect fitting. His straight hair, which was a good topping to his face, and brown eyes made him stand out. 'He's not bad though,' she concluded thoughtfully.She had to put it that he was probably in his late twenties or early thirties, or what else could he be? As she was staring at him, the man smiled. She was obviously sizing him up and she noticed he was doing the same.Eventually, the man spoke after what seemed like a minute, "Since you're Sydney's friend, I hope we can be good friends too.""Sure we can," she straightforwardly replied, making sure to keep a straight face. She wasn't ready to send the wrong impression... though she eventually did.The man smiled again as he let go of her hand. 'Wait, we have been holding hands all along? This is crazy,' she scolded herself inwardly. Her thoughts had made her to completely forget."Has your internship been going well?" the man asked her.She shrugged her shoulders. "Yes, it has. Asides the Robinson stress, it's been good." she replied with a humorous tone, which made the man chuckle slightly.The man looked at her in what seemed to be a pleased expression and said, "Don't worry too much about him. Yeah, he might be a pain in the ass though, but in time you'll get used to him.""I hope so," she said and checked her phone to know the time, "I gotta go. I'm already late for the meeting. Sydney, I'll catch up with you later. And it's nice knowing you Mr Jacob." She then turned to leave."It's just Jacob," She heard the man say just before she got into the room. She turned her head slightly, replied with a nod and quickly went in.As soon as she was out of sight, Sydney turned her gaze to the man. "Now that I've helped you meet her, I'll be getting free lunch for two days from you. No negotiations,"Jacob grinned. "No problem.""Look at the way you were staring at her," Sydney laughed and walked off.The next Monday.Around fifteen to twenty minutes past three.Inside the reading room of Westride High School, five figures could be seen sitting around a table, with several books placed on it. Silence ruled the air as the figures seemed to be deeply immersed in the books they were reading... Not all of them though.The figures were two males and three female counterparts — Gary, Henry, Laura and her best friends - Stephanie and Ashley. This arrangement commenced today after receiving an approval from the principal the week before, enabling them to use an extra thirty minutes in the school after school hours. Truthfully, it was to encourage an improvement in Gary's grades as the principal hardly ever approves of such. But, it came with a warning — "Don't cause havoc on any of the school properties!", the principal had told the group of teenagers who had a huge tendency of running wild.Seated in the middle of Henry and Stephanie, with Laura's sitting position in his lin
The sound of screeching tyres came to a halt right in front of the Alfred residence. A Mini Porsche came into existence and out came Blue from it with a small bag in her left arched arm.Taking her steps slowly, she saunters into the average duplex apartment through the light three-step stairs. In the balcony, she unbolted the door with the key which she had just retrieved from her bag.As she got in, she breathed in the fresh aroma of the place she was well familiar with... the place she calls home. Instead of waiting behind in the living room to relax a little, she decided to do something else. Though a bit weary, she manages to drag herself up the stairs to the top floor where her room is located. At least, she could have a lone time to herself without interference from anybody.As the now unlocked door to the room had been opened, she rushed straight to the bed and sinks into it, a soft moan escaping her rosebud lips. The view of the room was a typical lady's spec, elud
11:26 am.Passing through the corridor on the lower floor of the school, Gary could be seen walking in an average pace, with Henry sluggishly tagging behind, half-running in between to catch-up with Gary. Enthusiasm was written on Gary's face as he passed by students who were obviously heading the same direction as him. His destination, and that of Henry's, was to the music room."I don't know what reasons you have for wanting to join the music class, but is it all that necessary?" Henry's grumpy voice came out, few steps away from the music room."There's no reason in particular, I just want to try out something new..." Gary came up with a twisted reply."Something new? You've been a student of this school since Grade 9, yet you just remembered you need to try out something new... in final year?" Henry was curious as he spoke."How many times do you want us to go over this?" Gary sighed."Urrgh! I can't believe I'm quitting drama class just to stick up with your '
Lunch hour, around Twelve-thirty-something.Through the hall pathway, Blue strolled with two people into the school cafeteria, chatting casually with them. These two people were the interns she had begun acquainting with since the week before — a hottie named Eva and a foreigner named André. Eva was a biology intern while André was for French.Blue was by the right side as the three proceeded to the counter to get what they would eat. They each added a can of diet coke to their meals before they chose to sit in a corner of the cafeteria.Right from when they had gone into the cafeteria 'til now, the eyes of the various male students in the cafeteria had for once not left the group. The group seemed to be a normal one but who could tear his eyes off an attractive lady like Blue or a down-to-earth hottie like Eva? But the funny thing was the group didn't notice any of such stares as they chatted lightly while eating.Eventually, Eva was the first to notice the stares being
As he fished out the bunch of house keys from his pants pocket, his fingers hit something as well. Slowly, he brought out the item alongside the bunch. His mobile phone. Standing by the balcony into the apartment, he transfered the keys to his right hand and initiated series of taps on the mobile, his left hand fiddling with the lock.On getting the right spot in the keyhole, he pushed open the door and sauntered into the living room of the completely devoid five bedroom bungalow, his sharp eyes completely fixed on the screen of his phone. He began heading straight to his room but halted suddenly as he passed by the refrigerator which was near the entrance to the kitchen. Taking a few steps back, he opened the refrigerator and grabbed a bottle of water before initiating his former journey. Even though he hadn't had much to eat today, he only chose to consume a bottle of liquid...He entered the room which was filled with posters of various music artistes and a large poster of
The next day at school.Gary arrived earlier than the usual time he does. He got down from his bike, one he hadn't used in awhile, in the parking lot and took off the helmet on his head. After putting it on the bike's handle, he adjusted his hair and the strapped bag on his back as he began heading for the school building.On a closer look at his face, the bags under his eyelids wouldn't go unnoticed. This was due to the fact that he was sleep deprived. To the question on what he was doing up all night, well, teenagers never really have good reasons for not getting enough sleep most times.Passing by some students, he entered through the lit hall which leads to the various classes. He made a brief stop at the lockers near the staircase leading to the top floor as he opened his personal locker and took out a book from it which he had forgotten to take the day before. He then initiated back his motion and went up the stairs.On getting to the class which was presently occu
"... Alfred..."Coincidentally, Gary finally got her surname when he heard Mr Robinson call her as he passed by the music room that Tuesday.The kind of joy that flushed his system was explainable to him. He found out his new found crush was going through a music internship so he decided to try his luck by passing through the music room... and it worked out. Fate was definitely on his side, he concluded.Without wasting time, he had inputted the surname into his phone because it was likely he would forget since there were still some hours left before the school hours were over. Besides, he knew the over excitement could make him forget as well.He had fulfilled something for himself so it was straight to the next agenda - Henry!He already had a plan but he needed someone's help to go through with it.Laura.She was Stephanie's friend and since there wasn't any bad blood between them, he was optimistic she would willingly help.Right before their reading exer
"Have you decided already, Blue?" Jacob asked Blue that Friday morning after exchanging pleasantries with her. It was the day that he had planned to take her out on a date so he was expecting a reply from her.Blue sighed silently, 'It looks like I don't have a choice,' she thought. She hadn't given it much thought but she definitely wouldn't want Jacob to feel bad if she declined. "It's just a date..." sounded in her mind."I'm in." she plainly told him. A wide grin escaped his face after she replied. He was obviously happy, and she? She didn't know how to react to it."So you mean you've agreed to go with me tonight?" he asked, still smiling.She only nodded to reply."You just made my day!" he said aloud, "I'll send you the details of the place this evening. See you later, Blue." and after speaking, he was gone.'I hope I did the right thing,' she thought and headed to the music room.The music lessons had been made available for that day due to some reasons
