Nose Ring & Feelings
The blend of gold and copper was bent perfectly into a tiny heart. A gorgeous coat of rose gold colored the shaped material. Tiny, smooth specks of shiny diamonds weaved around the heart in vine-like curls.
I was in love with the design I created. It took days for me to perfect every last detail. Days that could have been spent towards homework or maybe taking time to assess the mental damage I’ve sustained during the past few days. It could've been better spent, I admit.

“It’s not healthy for a young girl to only eat junk food.” A pile of pale, yellowish noodles sat heavy in a thick layer of white sauce. Freshly cooked herbs mixed well with the hearty smell of buttery garlic and cheesy cream. A heavy layer of grayish black paint coated each wall of the bedroom. Odd carvings and designs littered the walls that weren’t covered in paintings. Raelynn POV: Having a safe place was a needed necessity when it came to keeping my mental stability stable. My mental psyche was a bit fragile. It was easy for my mother and older sister to pick apart whatever wall I had built up. Throughout the years, it tumbled down far too easily without much effort on their part. I could remember when I used to suck at drawing. My attempts were nothing more than a pathetic scribble. A meager scrawl that stained the pages. Despite the bad effort, my stress and anxiety still melted away as I drew whatever I could. It was practice that made me better. Long hours huddled away as I repeated the same doodle until it actually turned out into something good. Looking back on my old drawings was a weird balance between soothing and cringey. I took in the old drawings that I’ve given Daniella, a little surprised and kinda happy that she’s kept all of them. I could easily remember when and why I drew what I did.
