Chapter 1

“Let’s get a divorce, Renee.”

The man’s cold voice sounded from behind while Renee Everheart was in the middle of searing steaks. After hearing those words, she became seemingly numb to the hot oil splattering on her cheeks from the lightly sizzling pan.

“We’re only husband and wife on paper. Now that four years have passed, it’s time to end this,” Stefan Hunt said with a cold, distant tone.

Renee bit her lip anxiously.

‘Looks like this day was inevitable after all…’

Her family was declared bankrupt four years ago. Her parents, unable to endure the stress of financial hardship, took their lives together, leaving young Renee to handle the mess alone.

In the past, Renee’s grandfather fought alongside Stefan’s grandfather on the battlefield, and he even saved the latter’s life once. In his dying moments, he voiced out to his old pal his concern for his granddaughter and left Renee under his care.

And so, a marriage of convenience was arranged between Stefan and Renee to put the old man’s concerns to rest.

As time passed, Renee found herself falling in love with the man she married. She thought that as long as she played the role of a good wife, he would reciprocate her feelings one day.

However, what transpired was the complete opposite of what she had hoped for.

“I’ll give you 40 million dollars and a penthouse at Long Beach. Here are the divorce papers. Sign them if you have no objections.”

Stefan then pushed a document towards Renee. His stern expression indicated that this was no more than another business transaction to him.

Renee skimmed through the string of numbers.

‘40 million dollars for four years, huh? The Hunts are still as wealthy as ever,’ she thought to herself.

“Do we have to?” She put down the document and stared at her husband.

The man she had loved for four years was drop-dead gorgeous, yet his beautiful face was always stern and distant.

“Yes,” Stefan replied without a hint of hesitation.

Renee’s heart stung, but she was not one to drag things out. As her objections had fallen on deaf ears, she knew it was time for her to go.

‘Whatever, I got 40 million for the years I’ve spent being his wife. This is more than worth it!’

“Alright.” She picked up a pen and scribbled her signature on the papers decisively.

Stefan was taken aback by her resoluteness. The Renee he knew was fragile and indecisive, and he had never seen this side of her.

For some reason, this left a sour taste in his mouth.

“I’ll let you know once this is processed. If it’s possible, I’d like you to move out by tonight.” The man said, brushing off the unpleasant feeling in his chest before leaving.

It was painfully obvious that he didn’t intend on discussing the matter over.

On the very same night, the housekeeper immediately threw Renee’s belongings out of the villa after receiving news of the divorce. It wasn’t like she respected Renee back then, but now that they were officially separating, she became openly hostile.

“Serves you right, you gold-digging leech! It’s about time they decided to kick you out!”

Renee had no choice but to crouch down and pick her scattered clothing up. The cold night breeze only served to rub salt in her wound.

Just then, she heard the sound of a car rolling to a stop behind her. A tall slender woman emerged from the vehicle.

“Ms. Desrosiers, you’re here! Welcome, welcome!” The housekeeper, who was just yelling profanities at Renee, immediately jumped to the guest’s assistance.

However, Briar Desrosiers didn’t even bother to spare the housekeeper a glance. “Be careful with my belongings. If you break even a single thing, you wouldn’t be able to pay it back within a lifetime.”

Renee’s entire body stiffened up. In mere seconds, the pieces fell into place in her mind.

  • The Untouchable Ex-Wife   Chapter 2663

[Red Resort. Tonight at eleven o'clock. You've got to come alone.]That text shared the same content as the text Renee received when she was at the stable that morning. The only difference was the time. It was changed from tomorrow at 8 PM to tonight at 11 PM.It seemed that person was eager to meet her. Renee inevitably rolled her eyes. She felt like calling Stefan to mock him. After all, they had just parted ways. But he did so much just to see her. It felt like a waste of time. However, she decided against such a thought. If Stefan merely wanted to meet her about the issues of their companies competing for the shares in the market, they needed to meet alone at a solemn occasion in a business-like manner. After some hesitation, Renee took a deep breath. It was almost time, and she decided to go there. After reaching the destination, it was already ten minutes to eleven o'clock. She struggled to breathe because she had to rush there. Hence, she scolded Stefan inwardly."A

Both Quinton and Joanne were stunned for two seconds. Then, they quickly broke apart as if they had touched something unlucky.Honestly, it was their closest distance after their initial separation. They both felt new things. However, they could only bury those emotions deep inside their hearts and keep them from everyone else.Neither Adie nor Abby found it awkward. Besides, they interrogated Quinton and Joanne, as if they wanted to make things worse."Uncle Quinton, Ms. Garcia, are you closer to each other now?"That question filled Quinton and Joanne with deeper awkwardness. They were speechless, too.Renee said casually, "Hey, stop asking about nonsense. They're always close to each other. You can't give them a hard time."Joanne clenched her fists and took a deep breath before she said, "It's late. I'll…go to bed." She quickly ran upstairs, acting pretentiously but scared. Abby watched where Joanne had gone and frowned. She asked carefully, "Mommy, did Adie and I do an

Therefore, Joanne stopped being coy. She agreed and feigned casualness. "Fine. I'm not a sore loser, either. Just go ahead." "I'm not a sore loser, either. It's not a big deal. Just like carrying a sandbag. Let's start!" Quinton acted casual, too. "Fine, you guys agreed to it. I won't spoil the kids' fun." Renee acted like someone older managing a marriage. Initially, she could stop such a scene. However, she decided not to when they were that casual and indifferent. Quinton swallowed and walked forward nervously. Then, he carried Joanne in his arms. Joanne was very nervous but got too timid to speak. She simply closed her eyes as if she were being tortured. She even hugged Quinton's neck."One, two, three, four…" Renee and the children started counting. As Quinton squatted, he grew tired and struggled to breathe. He also started sweating.Although Joanne did nothing, she also had difficulty breathing. Her forehead was full of sweat. Although it was just squatting, it

Joanne instantly blushed. She kept her head low and was too shy to speak. On the other hand, Quinton was restless. He looked everywhere, rolled his sleeves up, and scratched his head. It was clear that he was very nervous. He had experienced a lot of different things. Of course, it was rare to see him panic in such a way."Ahem!" Renee noticed that the two of them were awkward, as if they were on a blind date. She suppressed her smile and asked Adie seriously, "Hey, how could you come up with such a thing for your uncle?""Because Uncle Quinton and Ms. Garcia are weird," Adie seriously answered. "Huh? What do you mean?" Renee sat on the sofa and was eager for some gossip."Because they seem to be close to each other but pretend not to be. When they're together, they keep stealing glances at each other but purposely ignore each other. My teacher told me that people who aren't close should join some ice-breaking activities. Then, they'll get close to each other. I hope to see them

"Yeah, we can punish Uncle Quinton!" "We must punish him properly. He's always so strict on us!"Quinton had always been strict on Adie and Abby. Finally, they got a chance to take a counterattack and were overjoyed.Quinton was not a sore loser, though he was generally strict. At that time, he yielded and was ready to be punished by the two witty children. Renee watched briefly while standing at the door. She found that scene warm but still stopped them. "Adie, Abby, what are you doing? You're being rude!" She knew her two witty and naughty children too well. They were not easy to handle and would never easily let Quinton off the hook."Mommy!" At the sight of Renee, the two children stopped playing the game.Abby ran to Renee and held the latter's hand, clinging to the latter. "Mommy, you didn't play with Adie and me this weekend!""I'm sorry. I got delayed by some business, but I found something fun." Renee felt that her outing to the stable was more than just a social ga

After a brief pause, Renee purposely hid a part of her conversation with Sadler. Then, she carefreely smiled at them. "We got what we wanted here. Let's go home!"Liam frowned and noticed that something was wrong with Renee. He asked, "Is that it? What did you guys talk about? Did he tell you who the mastermind was and why they targeted Azure Group?" "We've talked about that." Renee was worried that Liam might impulsively find fault with the Hunt family. Hence, she avoided the key points. "I know who it was, but it doesn't matter. As long as we're strong, no one can defeat us." "But…" Liam refused to give up, but Renee interrupted him."I'm tired. The kids are waiting for me. Bye!" Renee waved at them before she got into her car to drive away. Both Liam and Leia found her weird. They looked at each other in dismay and spread their hands helplessly. They knew that they would never get the answer out of Renee if she refused to tell them. Hence, they could only wait until the
