It’s been more than a month since Wunmi started working at Gamma Technologies, Uncle Kayode’s company. It’s been a week since Wunmi finally admitted to liking Tayo. Everyday, she wishes to see him more often than normal.
She dreaded the weekends, which means she won’t get to see Tayo for two days. During one of these weekends, she decided to follow Lara to her family house at Ikoyi.
Wunmi and Lara came out of the Uber car they paid for into the big mansion.
The Security man at the gate greeted them, “Small madams, welcome o.”
They both smiled at the man.
“Tochi, how are you?”
“I dey o.” The man responded, beaming with smiles. “How School?”
“School dey fine.” They answered as they walked into the compound.
Wunmi looked up as they walked. "You guys just painted the house?"
"Yes." Lara nodded. "Mum told me last month, I forgot to mention it besides you're busy with work."
"Okay. Only God knows what you’ve been thinking that made you forgot." Wunmi teased.
“You can’t understand.” Lara replied and they both laughed.
Lara opened the door and they both entered into the big house and met two of Lara's younger siblings doing their home assignments.
"Aunty Lara! Aunty Wunmi!" The children came to hug them.
“How are you kids?”
“Fine.” They responded and went back to finishing their assignment.
"Where's Joke?" Lara asked, after looking around, confirming that her sister was not around.
"She's inside." the older one answered.
"Go and call her, tell-"
Lara hasn't finished talking when Joke came out of the room jumping around like a child. "Aunty Wunmi!"
Wunmi smiled at her and they hugged. "How are you? How is school, Ajoke."
"I'm fine, see Aunty Wunmi I was taught this style at school, wait let me go and bring it." Joke said and ran upstairs to get whatever style she was taught in school.
Joke went to a technical school where she was taught mostly handwork, and she has chosen to learn Tailoring and Fashion designing, always saying her model is Wunmi.
"Don't mind her, she's always like that." Lara commented after Joke went upstairs.
"I know because she's my friend, besides she’s just too excited to share what she learned." Wunmi smiled.
"I wonder how you cope with her. She usually embarrasses me most times with her jumping around and playing like a baby." Lara said.
Wunmi shook her head and frowned at Lara. "No, you shouldn't say something like that, She's your sister no matter how she is, you should love her. Never say she embarrasses you because all she wants is to be close with you."
"You're right, I-" Lara was interrupted by her father coming in and clapping his hands. Tagging along is her mother and Joke. "Nice one Wunmi, I'm really proud of you. Don't mind this naughty Lara." Lara's dad said.
Lara frowned at her dad. "I'm not naughty, and I've heard what she said I won't do that again."
"Moti gbo." (I've heard) Lara's dad replied in Yoruba language. "Yes, Wunmi you know how to cut clothes for styles right?"
"Yes." Wunmi nodded.
"Joke has been asking me to find someone to teach her how to cut one style, show her."
Joke brought out the fashion magazine and gave it to Wunmi. "This one." She pointed to the one she wants.
Wunmi checked the style Joke was pointing at, she shrugged and responded. "It’s not very complicated, I'm still around till tomorrow evening. I'll teach you tomorrow morning after breakfast."
"Yay!" Joke jumped and hugged Wunmi. "Thank you."
Wunmi smiled fondly at her, then she left with Lara to her room in the house.
In the room, Wunmi took one of the books in the shelf and started checking it. Go Cheng Lung’s Business Mathematics. She read in her mind.
"When did you get this book?" She asked as she didn’t remember Lara buying any book.
Lara looked at the book she was holding. "It's not mine, it's for the Hoc. I’m supposed to have returned it already."
"Okay."
She was still checking the big book when her phone rang, she took out her phone from her handbag, checked and saw the caller. "It's Tunde."
"Hello... I'm fine, why haven't you come around since... Okay oo... Oh, I'll check it... I'll tell her too." She ended the call.
"What happened?" Lara asked.
"Tunde said there are some news for all 400 level students of the school, he said we should check the School's website."
"Okay, do you have data?"
"Yes." Wunmi nodded and checked the website, After some minutes she got the results. "They said we should all come to the auditorium on Monday, I think it's involving our final results."
"I hope there's no problem o."
"I hope so too."
*Time skips*
"So, have you found out if Tayo is the same one you knew before?" Lara asked.
"I haven't and especially now I don’t know what to do, I didn't tell you because I wasn't sure." Wunmi stood up and folded her arms to her chest.
Lara walked to her and held her by the shoulders. "What's wrong? You know you can tell me anything, right?"
"I think I already like Mr Tayo." Wunmi said. “And I-”
Lara's eyes widened then she screamed and jumped up, cutting Wunmi off whatever she wanted to say. "Yay!"
Wunmi shook her head. "Not really yay. I keep seeing Tayo in him and I don’t want to make the mistake of falling for Tayo again."
"Let’s just assume he’s not your Tayo, he’s just giving off Tayo’s vibe." Lara pulled Wunmi to sit beside her. "Gist me now, how did it happen?"
Wunmi hissed and turned her face to hide her blush. "How does it happen before?"
"So, will you tell him?" Lara asked excitedly.
"Tell him? I can't." Wunmi looked at Lara like she was speaking an entirely different language.
Lara's face turned bored. "You like spoiling show and you aren't going to see him on Monday." She put her finger on her cheeks like she was thinking of something.
"Enough please, let’s stop talking about Tayo." Wunmi said to shut her up. "I want to call Uncle Kayode to tell him. I don't feel like going to school sef."
"Hmm or it's because you'll miss him." Lara laughed.
"Shut up Lara." Wunmi groaned, then she got on Lara, pillow fighting her and of course Lara fought back, playfully.
This is in Wunmi’s pov"Good morning." I said to Natasha as I walked inside the office building. She didn't answer me as usual, then I walked in thinking about why she's like that. I almost wished I didn’t say a word to her, the scowl on her face was scary as hell, almost seem like a bad luck for a new morning."Good morning Wunmi." Caroline greeted me, making me realize I already walked past her without noticing it.I turned and gave her an apologetic smile. "Good morning, Don’t be annoyed.""What were you thinking?""It's about Natasha,” I frowned. “She hasn't been nice ever since I got here, I don't know why?"Caroline laughed. "So you're putting that girl issue in your head, Don't mind her it's her own problem. That's how she is sometimes, I mean most times." She chuckled."I really don’t understand her, anyways I’ll see you at lunch." I shrugged and walked into my office.Mr Tayo w

I didn't want to but she forced me to do a makeup simply because it's my first date.I wriggle my tongue at her and collected the mirror from her, I looked into it and saw my reflection."Lara!" My eyes widened. "What have you done to my face?""It's makeup." She answered coolly, as if she never did a thing."Hey! All my face has changed, I don’t look like me." I frowned, still looking in the mirror at myself."Yes, that’s why it is called makeup, what do you expect?” Lara smirked. “You look stunning, I bet Tayo's jaw will drop when he sees you."I shook my head and sighed. "Even this date, it’s like you’re the one who is going with all the preparations you’re making. You forced me to practically dress like a bride.""Ha! The wedding? I won't do that make u

Uncle Kayode said. “The way you two were both staring at each other was weird for people who just met.”We all laughed and I responded. "There wasn't anything Uncle, he was kind of mad at me on the first day we met, I don’t even know why.""All I know is that I saw that there was something or there would be something between you two someday, and don't tell me there was nothing because I'm older than you all and I can see something you all ca

Wunmi said and collected the bag from him."Lara, please wash this meat, I'll slice the vegetables and fry them.""Okay." Lara opened the bag. “This is very much.”"Everything is not for the fried rice, some are for the 'Asun' (Barbecue).” Tayo said."Hello Mister," Lara faced him, frowning. "Don't give me headache here please, take the ones you want to use and go outside to grill them.""Okay ma." Tayo collected the bag from her and took the meat he needed then he went outside.Tayo, Wunmi and Lara were preparing food as Ade was arriving from Port Harcourt that morning."Are we going to take him from the airport or he's coming here from there?" Lara asked."Oh yeah, I didn't even ask Tayo about that." Wunmi peeped through the kitchen window and noticed Tayo
This chapter is in Wunmi's p.o.v Tayo and I just got back from the office and we met all the lights in the house off. "Ade." Tayo called. "Lara?" I walked to the switch and turned on the light. We saw Lara and Ade on the couch, cuddling and asleep under a blanket. I burst into laughter as the scene in front of me is really funny. Tayo joined me later then he put his hand on my lips. "Shush, get water from the fridge." I tiptoed carefully and got the cold water then I gave it to Tayo, we moved closer to the sleeping couple, shifted the blanket and Tayo poured the water on their faces. "Hey!" They yelled and got up immediately. I and Tayo stood there and started laughing at them. "What did you do that for?" Lara glared at the both of us. I collected the cup from Tayo and dropped it on the table. "There are a lot of r

"Lara is posted to Lagos while I have to go to Abuja." "Ohh." Lara put her hand on her mouth. "Seriously, I don't know if I should be happy or sad right now." She said. I grinned, "I like Abuja better, it's better than being posted to those further Northern states." Lara nodded her head and stood up to collect the paper from me. "And another news." I looked at their faces. "This isn't for you two, it's for Tayo." "What's it?" Tayo asked. I turned my back and pulled my hair to the front "The tattoo." Tayo laughed and carried me up "You're really crazy. I didn't know you meant it." "Wow." I heard Ade and Lara say. I turned and looked at them "What's wrong?" "So, you two did tattoos writing each other names in it?" A
