"When did you find out?" Lucas asked.
"Yesterday during my talk with Deborah." Queenie replied, "When did you two get your information as well?"
"Oh, from Mary Leicester. She was one of the founding members of the experiment." Roxanne retorted. Lucas also nodded in agreement.
"In as much as I want to continue this discussion, I have a father and a husband to mourn. After this funeral, I'll get to the bottom of all this." Queenie sighed and got up.
Lucas and Roxanne also took that as their cue to leave and left as soon as Queenie made her way into her closet.
"You think she's really affected by Pierce's demise?" Roxanne asked sadly as they walked in the corridor.
"I don't know." Lucas said, at a loss at what to say. Queenie had always been one who hated revealing her emotions to people. He could imagine how hard it was for her.
Not only had she lost the only father figure she had, she also lost her husband on the day of her father's funeral. Anyone would be racked up with pain.
