Queenie sat up abruptly in a hospital ward. She looked around the room with darkened eyes but when she realized where she was, her eyes softened.
She looked down on her red wrists and rubbed them gently while glancing around the room.
The door was pushed open and a nurse wheeled in some medicine. Upon seeing Queenie was awake, He lowered her head slightly.
"Mrs. Verlice, I'm happy you're awake." The nurse said and Queenie looked her over.
She got out of bed and walked to the window. She stayed silent for a few minutes before she glanced back at the nurse.
"How long have I been here?" She asked.
"Three hours." The nurse replied.
"Who brought me in?" She asked after a moment of silence passed between them.
"Ms. Jones. She said she's a long time friend of yours, so we let her sign for you while we contacted your family." The nurse replied and Queenie's eyes widened.
