Everyone had cleared out. Anxious to see their dad, Alex dragged Chase into the hospital room first.
Only Haley remained in the hallway, quietly standing just outside the door. She didn’t go in right away.
She didn’t know how long she had been there when Sam approached, holding a folder.
“Miss Haley,” he said softly, “before Mr. Yates left to rescue you, he signed this.”
He opened the folder and held it out to her. “If anything happened to him, he wanted all of his assets—his shares in RC Corporation and everything else—to be transferred to you.”
Then he offered her a pen.
