I didn't react outwardly. I only nodded and said. "That will be all for today. I will take everyone's suggestion into consideration."
Everyone began to disperse, and I added. "Victor, wait behind, we need to talk."
A few minutes later, the room was empty, and only Victor and I remained. Logan had hesitated to leave, but I stood my ground, hoping in my head that the suspicion I had in my mind would turn out to be a complete misunderstanding. I can't deal with the disappointment, no, not from Victor.
I walked to the large bar at the adjacent wall from where I was seated. Choose a good bottle of wine and two cups, then return to the table. With no sense of urgency whatsoever, I popped the wine open and poured the red liquid into the cups, then pushed on toward Victor.
