(Audrey's POV)
Sarah stared at me, eyes wide with disbelief.
"No way?" she exclaimed, nearly choking on her drink.
"Way," I confirmed with a heavy sigh.
"I have no idea when that stubborn Alpha will agree to finalize our severance," I said, rubbing my temples. "It feels like it's never going to happen. He's so... infuriating!"
Sarah squeezed my arm reassuringly. "It's okay, it's okay. Severing a mate bond, as long as one party is determined, it's just a matter of time. Besides, you've already settled everything, just a piece of paper away. Just think of yourself as already severed."
I tried to smile, grateful for her support, but my wolf whined inside me, still feeling the weight of Arthur's mark on my skin.
"What about you?" I asked, changing the subject. "Has Lucas come looking for you here?"
Lucas had helped Sarah move before; I still owed him a meal for that. He definitely remembered this address. Even if he didn't, asking Arthur would easily clear that up.
