What would normally have been a quick one-day journey had, for Erico and me, stretched into three long, exhausting days.
The road to Greywood was incredibly tiring, especially with my large, heavy belly. Every bump, every sway of the cart, made me deeply uncomfortable. We had spent several nights camping along the way, thankfully, as a werewolf, I was used to the rough feeling of a grassy bed beneath me. My body adapted quickly, but the constant motion was draining.
Erico had planned this trip with immense care.
He had thought of everything, taking many precautions to ensure my comfort and safety. We had waterproof, woolen sleeping bags, plenty of bottled water, and a food warmer packed with enough meat and vegetables to keep us nourished. He was always mindful of my special needs as an expectant mother.
In the small village we had passed through, Blackwell
