Rain's POV
What. Just. Happened?
The kiss was short.
Very short.
Strangely, it had an effect on me.
At that instant, my mouth opened, and I shut it back. What could I say now? Thoughts resumed running around in my head.
None of it made any sense.
The Beta in my chamber, kissing me.
“I'm sorry—” words I didn't expect him to say dragged me from my thoughts. When I looked up, he was on his feet, heading towards the door. “I'll come back to see you when I can, but think about what I have said.”
What did he say?
The Beta talked about a lot. Many things I can't even recall. Which one of them did he want me to think about?
“Wh—which do you refer to?”
“Taking you out of this pack, Rain—” his tone was low. “I'm sure this is what you would love.”
A smile appeared on his countenance. Another appeared on mine, one I didn't mean in any way. All of these were overwhelming for me. Especially that kiss. One I didn't know the right reaction to give, even at this point.
