Jessie’s POV
As if he could read my mind.
My heart raced as he leaned in.
His breath warm against my skin. I fought with all my strength to keep her body from yearning for him, but my eyes were half closed, and my lips were already itching to be touched by his.
Gavin paused, his triumphant smirk suddenly turned cocky. His voice low and mocking.
“What’s the matter, Jess? Nervous?”
I swallowed hard, feeling my cheeks warm up with color.
“No,” I lied, my voice barely a whisper. “This… just doesn’t feel right…” I stammered, my heart racing out of my chest.
“I don’t care about right or wrong.” He murmured, his lips inches away from mine.
“What matters is that you belong to me now. And I intend to claim what’s mine.”
Without waiting for my response, Gavin captured my lips in a kiss— both possessive and demanding. As soon as our lips met, I melted into his arms.
