Author’s POV
In the evening just before to leave at home, Meredith looks at Cara face and asks her:
"Why don't you take a day off, this wound will look even worse tomorrow."
"I can't, Mer, Alpha Max will be mad if I don't come to work." and she lowered her head.
She knows very well that tomorrow everyone will look at her face and no make-up will be able to hide the marks left by Veronica, but all she has right now is this job. She can’t lose it.
“I will take care of this, don’t worry. I am your superior and if Maximillian Cruz will try anything against you, he will talk to me. Please stay home tomorrow and take care of you. Meredith said and smiled at her.
“Are you really sure? I don't want to make things difficult for you. " Cara asks, completely overwhelmed that someone wants to help her. Except for Lisa Cruz nobody cared about her, even her parents neglect her.
"You know what?" Meredith asks her. "I will take you home!"
"Meredith, I don't want to bother you!" Cara says shocked.
