A Family Suspect
Roman's POV
The interrogation room felt suffocating as I sat down to face each captive, one by one. Caspian stood silently in the corner, his presence a reassuring constant in this mess.
"Tell me about your contractor," I demanded of the first man, my voice low and dangerous.
He shook his head, fear evident in his eyes. "I-I never saw her. Only our team leader did." He stammered. That was what Max told me too. So he wasn't lying after all.
I growled in frustration, dismissing him and calling for the next. This pattern repeated until finally, the team leader sat before me.
The first five men were frustratingly unhelpful because they hadn't seen their contractor and I only want to hear more about her.
His eyes darted nervously around the room, avoiding my gaze.
"You saw her," I demanded, leaning across the table. "Describe her. And I mean every detail you can remember." I growled, menacingly.
The man swallowed hard, his eyes darting nervously between C
