Blythe (in a hushed voice, gripping Ceres’s wrist):
“Whatever that prince gave you… keep it close, but don’t let it bite too deep. And Ceres… the mirror in your chamber. It doesn’t just reflect. It remembers.”
Ceres (narrowing her eyes):
“What are you talking about? You warned me about Prince Aldren; now it’s the furniture too?”
Blythe (urgently):
“Listen to me. That mirror was your grandmother’s. It was brought from the old capital before it fell. It’s not what it seems. When I was your age, I saw shadows in it—ones that didn’t belong to me. I thought I imagined them. I was wrong.”
Ceres (skeptical but uneasy):
“You’re saying it’s… what? Haunted?”
Blythe (shaking her head):
“No. It’s hiding something. And I think it’s time you see it for yourself.”
Ceres (pulling back slightly):
“If this is another test of loyalty—”
Blythe (sternly):
“It’s not a test. It’s a key. You’ll know what I mean when you’re stand
