"I'm not hiding anything; I'll be pleased if he doesn't know." She pleaded.
He sighed, "fine. But I'm not promising." Afterwards, he left the ward.
Julie went to examine her two daughters again, this time around, checking their temperature and their blood pressure since she was a doctor herself.
Meanwhile, the first thing Murray did when he met with Jotham was report, "The two beautiful girls I almost hit belong to Julie."
Jotham's face flashed. "Julie has kids?"
"I was surprised myself," Murray said.
Jotham's mood became discombobulated.
"It's time, the investors are already waiting." Murray reminded Jotham they were to attend a meeting while checking his wristwatch. Both friends were currently at the bar. Jotham had angrily left the hospital after his encounter with Julie.
"Cancel it!" Jotham said and poured himself a glass cup of wine. After sipping it all in at once, he clenched his fist secretly. A lot was going on in his mind.
"I believe you know the consequences," Murray said.
Jotham slammed his fist on the table, making all the bottles and glass cups on it vibrate and fall. "I don't fucken care!"
Murray gulped. He understood his friend better than anyone.
"Julie has a happy family now, Jotham. Her husband's love and her two beautiful twins." Murray added. "What you were unable to give her in all her six years with you."
He turned to Murray with a face filled with so many emotions. One couldn't tell if he was about to cry or kill. "I..." He stuttered. "I want her, Murray. I don't care if she has ten kids, I want her!"
When Murray tried to speak, he interrupted, "Please don't tell me I can't have her."
Murray swallowed while lightening up his cigarette. "There is something weird I noticed though."
Jotham became curious immediately, looking intently at him as if he would forcefully draw the words out of him.
"Might just be my eyes, though, but I think the kids looked like you."
Jotham smirked and looked away from him, then ordered the barman to get him a new drink. "It's your eyes, Murray. The kids are not for me."
"Are you certain?"
"I never laid with her. Not once." He declared.
"Oh! I guess I saw it that way 'cause I wished badly that the kids were yours." Murray said.
Jotham drank from his cup and then let his head fall. One could tell he was in pain and agony. When Murray saw how he was drinking, he quickly pulled the bottle away from him, "That's enough; you will get drunk."
Murray suddenly paused when he beheld a sight. "Jotham!" He called, while still staring at what just got his attention.
Jotham immediately turned towards the direction Murray was looking. His eyes turned when he saw Julie and Trevor walking side by side into the club, they were even holding hands.
He wanted to stand, but Murray grabbed him, "What in the world are you about to do?"
"How dare he touch her?"
"You are going insane, Jotham. They are married, and he has had sex with her countless times. What could be the big deal about them holding hands?"
"Leave, Murray. I've had enough of you." Jotham said.
"If I leave, you'll do something stupid." Murray then stood. "Don't worry, there are better ways to do things. Let me speak with her."
"And find a way to stop them from holding hands." He said.
Murray smiled as he walked away from the scene.
Julie and Trevor were seated at one of the center seats in the bar, both looking radiant. Since they were returning to Glastonbury tomorrow, Julie thought it good to just come and have fun here that night.
She had come with Trevor so that lustful-looking men could stay far away from her. She's here to have fun not to have men swarm her. Plus with Trevor around, she will feel protected.
They were both chitchatting when Julie suddenly saw Murray at their table. "Murray?" She called in surprise.
"Hi, Julie." Murray smiled. "How are the kids?"
"Doing very well " she answered.
"Dr. T. Greetings." Murray greeted Trevor.
Trevor exchanged a handshake with him.
"Julie, would you like to spare some time to speak with my friend?" Murray asked.
Julie immediately looked around the bar, and then she sighted him, staring at her like a devil that wanted to swallow her. She looked away from him after a few seconds of locking faces with him. "As you can see Murray, I'm with my husband."
"Of course. And I also know you came here to have fun. Jotham just has a few words to say." Murray said.
"I'm sorry, but my wife will not leave me to attend to her ex-husband. Did you not see how I was treated at the hospital? Thrown out like a piece of shit. Please avoid us, we don't want your trouble." Trevor said.
"You heard my husband, Murray. Please leave."
Murray shrugged, "I guess I'll have to tell Jotham you've got two daughters that had the same resemblance with him."
Julie's heart stopped beating for a moment. She felt dizzy at once. He already noticed the kids looked like Jotham? Jeez! Jotham must not know that. What if he decides to do a DNA? She was one hundred percent certain he would take her kids from her.
"Mr. Murray..."
"It won't take long, please come with me." Murray interrupted her. The change in her expression made him realize that there was something she was hiding, even though it was hard to figure out.
She exchanged glances with Trevor, who nodded secretly, silently signaling for her to follow Murray.
Julie stood and began to walk with Murray, "Jotham and I never made love once during our marriage. If you ask him, he'll confirm so please dead that narrative of my daughters looking like him."
"Alright." Murray didn't bother to argue with her. So long as she had followed him to meet Jotham.
As soon as Murray and Julie got to where Jotham sat, Murray excused them.
"What do you want?" Julie asked.
"I paid for your services, and you haven't delivered." He said.
Julie smirked, "You threw my husband out of the hospital; that's an assault. And you held me hostage in that ward for almost an hour too. We aren't returning your money and we won't treat you. We'll be returning to our city tomorrow."
Hearing that part 'of them leaving this city and returning to the city they came from,' his heart froze. There's no way in this world she will ever let her leave this city.
"You are leaving?"
"Yes, tomorrow. Anything else? I must return to my dear husband."
Hearing her call another man 'dear husband' made him feel like a
sharp pin was punctured into his heart.
"You will never see him again!"
"Who?"
"This dear husband of yours!"
