Evan acted fast. He encased Andy with one of his arms while the other held me close. We then started walking faster so we could evade the reporters.
“Don’t look back,” he whispered.
“I’m scared,” Andy said, making my heart soften.
“We’re near the car, okay, bub?” I said, trying to comfort him. Meanwhile, Evan wrapped his arms around him tighter, making sure he was fully covered. Fortunately, Andy didn’t cry despite the situation.
“Evan,” I said, suddenly stopping.
He turned to me and softly said, “We can’t stop, Julia. Let’s make it quick.”
“They’re waiting for us by the car,” I muttered.
He finally turned his gaze to our car and, indeed, found numerous reporters waiting for us there.
“Crap,” he muttered.
“There they are!” one exclaimed, and everyone snapped their gazes toward us. Flashes were seen, and I felt my breaths getting heavier. However, I controlled myself, knowing I couldn’t panic.
“I’ll get you two in the car safely, don’t worry,” Evan said.
