Audrey understood that she couldn’t blame her son for misunderstanding her. After all, over the years, every time she and James met, it always ended in an argument. And each time, it was her bad attitude that sparked the fight.
She reassured Scott not to worry—she knew her limits and wouldn't make things awkward for him.
After a brief chat, Scott ended the call. Audrey felt a little down.

“What did Scott say?” James asked as he took the phone.
Audrey gave him a glance. “Told us not to argue. He doesn’t want his in-laws to laugh at him.”
James burst into laughter and turned to Julian, who had been glued to his phone. “I’ve never seen your brother care about someone this much.”
Still staring at his screen and playing a game, Julian replied without looking up, “He finally found a girl who can tolerate him. Of course he has to cherish her.”
