Upon hearing this, Gwyneth's eyes immediately lit up. She seized the opportunity to volunteer. "Colin, why don't you let me handle the layoffs and asset sales?"
Colin was startled, looking at Gwyneth with surprise and a hint of doubt. "You? Are you capable of that?"
Gwyneth puffed out her chest confidently. "Colin, don't worry! I'm the Deputy CEO of Nicholls Group. I know the company inside and out.
"Layoffs and asset sales are matters of life and death for the company. I'll give it my all and get the job done for you!"
Colin still seemed hesitant. He had very little confidence in Gwyneth's abilities.
Seeing Colin's uncertainty, Gwyneth quickly continued, "Colin, just trust me this once! I'm Nicholls Group's Deputy CEO, so these responsibilities should naturally fall to me anyway.
"Besides, I want to share some of your burden. I hate seeing you struggle with everything alone."
Her tone was earnest, her eyes eager, as if she'd bend over backward to help Colin.
