I tried to walk away from him but he followed me.
”Eli, you don't understand. I know you'll take care of it. What I'm saying is how are you going to bring them here with her here? Are you asking for another war that you won't be able to win?”
“Benny, what are you on about this time around? It's just Cole's wife and mother. It's not like I'm bringing Seth into the house to be her personal assistant."
He gave me a look.
“There's no need to be sassy. All I'm saying is that you should speak to her about it before you do such a thing.”
“Have you seen her today?"
He looked behind him like she was there.
“No, actually. I haven't. Do you know where she is? We can't go speak to her together.”
“She’s sick again. Darren has gone to pick out the herbs for her. Do you think I want to tell her something like that in the condition that she is?"
