Amber’s pov
I was the one who mistakenly sent Martinez Adrian's address. Even if I had given him my address, shouldn't he have called me first before coming over? I stood at my door, pondering what to do for a few seconds. I had a feeling that Adrian wouldn’t be pleased with such a visit. But as I contemplated the situation, I suddenly felt brave with the following thoughts.
"Adrian has never shown any emotional interest in me. What if Martinez has come to give his approval for the ten million dollars I asked him for?"
The thought of the ten million dollars and the knowledge that it would free me from Adrian's father energized me, and I made my way towards the sitting room.
When Martinez saw me, he stood up and embraced me. Before he could say anything, my eyes quickly scanned the entire sitting room, and when I didn't spot Adrian, my troubled heart eased for a moment.
