THIRD PERSON POV
The room was silent, apart from the faint vibration of the air conditioner. Kyla stood in front of her wardrobe, a black sheet mask stretched tightly over her face. Her fingers moved with mechanical grace as she reached for the small, blank container hidden behind her rows of silk blouses.
She brought it out and opened the case.
The tear-shaped perfume bottle inside caught the light, the rose-gold liquid glinting softly. Kyla unscrewed the top and sprayed a small amount onto a white napkin.
The scent was faint but unusual. Something sweet and floral, and very feminine.
But she couldn't risk inhaling it to tell.
She set the bottle down carefully.
Then she peeled the mask from her face and walked to the edge of her bed. Her tone was crisp but light as she called out, “MaryJane?”
