“You've been a bad girl.”
His words sent a shiver down my spine, but I refused to let him see how much he affected me.
I pushed against his chest again, this time with more force, but he didn’t budge. Instead, his smirk deepened, those dark eyes glinting with something unreadable–something dangerous.
“Let me go,” I demanded, my voice steadier than I expected, but not only did he not let me go, his fingers traced the mark he’d left on my neck, sending another jolt through me.
“Why? So you can run back to Matteo?” he asked, his hot breath against my ear, and I scoffed.
He pulled away just enough to meet my gaze, and I glared at him.
“You’re unbelievable. You were the one who left me waiting at the restaurant. The chauffeur never came. What was I supposed to do? Walk home?”
His jaw tightened, the amusement in his eyes flickering into something darker.
