Levi's POV
Finally, help came when a doctor walked up to me.
He was short, but maybe in his mid-forties, with kind brown eyes. He had this calmness that doctors get after years of telling families both the good news and bad news. His medical clothes were clean, but I could see that he was tired from the way his shoulders drooped a little.
"Mr. Adams," he said, walking toward me slowly. "I am Dr. Kamal. I am taking care of both patients."
"How are they?" I asked that question immediately, my heart was already beating so hard. "Are they going to be okay?"
He looked at my grandfather, then he looked at me, he kept his face neutral the way doctors do.
"Ms. Miller has a dangerous head injury and small cuts from the broken glass," he said. "She has some bruises on her ribs and her left shoulder, but with time it will heal. She should wake up in few hours time, her vital signs are good."
