"You want to get me arrested? Where's this coming from? Are you even listening to yourself right now?" Dexter clapped back at his Father with an immediate effect. He was unable to leave. The insult from his Father was too much to be overlooked.
"Who says I can't get you arrested? I am not biased. I am very fair in my decision-making. I wasn't kidding when I said that neither was my mouth filled with water." George affirmed without leaving no stone unturned.
"Sometimes I wish your late mother never died. I sincerely wished she was here to see you act like this. I guess she will equally be ashamed of you. She definitely has got many questions to answer. I doubt if you're my biological son," George started another drama just when it felt like he had given up already. This time, the taunt hit Dexter in the head.
He stayed quiet and faced the wall. Tiny tears dropped in his eyes. He was able to wipe them away.
It took him a few minutes to regain himself before returning to his Father with reddish eyes
"Oops, I see someone was busy crying his eyes out. So, tell me, how do you feel right now? Better or worse? Wait a minute, let me guess. You feel like the ground should open and swallow you right now, don't you?" George taunted Dexter with wicked laughter. He had fun doing that. He hasn't witnessed looking so pale before.
George had no regret whatsoever over his actions. If he had another opportunity, he would do that a thousand times without a second thought.
"This is the last time you are ever going to speak about my mother. Take her name out of your fucking mouth. I won't tolerate the taunting.
For crying out loud, show some respect to the dead. You my Father, yet you choose to act like a child." Dexter warned George. It took him a lot of courage to confront George.
He grabbed his car keys, heading to the exit door, and paused to process what just happened. It looked as though Dexter forgot something, but he didn't.
George didn't even make a move to question Dexter's exit. Deep down, he desperately wants Dexter to exit the ward. The presence of Dexter was already causing more harm to his health.
As Dexter opened the door to leave, he stumbled on Doctor Escobar and Kelly at the door. Coincidentally, Kelly was planning to come inside the ward too.
Dexter paused. "Speak of the devil, and now here just when I thought I was never going to set my eyes on his ugly face again. What the heck are you doing here? Why did you return? Don't you have a job?"
"Who's there with you? I just heard your voice. I don't want to believe you were speaking to yourself." George asked from where he was.
"None of your damn business," Dexter rudely said and shut the door. He dashed outside and shut the door from the outside.
He had a couple of nasty things to do to Kelly. He figured that his plans would be ruined if his Father ever finds out that it was Kelly at the doorway.
"Why did you shut the door from outside? Have you forgotten that there's a patient inside?" Doctor Escobar berated Dexter for such an act.
"Relax your nerves.
The patient in question is my Father. I certainly know how to handle him. You've got nothing to worry about," Dexter told Escobar. His confidence was top-notch. Now it's clear to the Doctor why Kelly was having sleepless nights because of Dexter.
"Well, your Father is my patient. His safety and well-being are my priority. Now pass me the key," he ordered Dexter as though he was his son.
"You want this?" Dexter flaunted the bunch of keys across Doctor Escobar's face just to spite him.
Doctor Escobar tried snatching the bunch of keys from Dexter. Sadly, Dexter was miles ahead of Doctor Escobar. He sharply inserted the keys back in his pocket.
"You are not having the keys and my decision. I still have unfinished business with Kelly. I wouldn't want my Father to become a major distraction,"Dexter explained while gazing at Kelly. That was his only focus.
"Dexter, please," Kelly begged. He halted and lost focus. He suddenly forgot lines to apologize to Dexter.
"Did you just call my name? How dare you? You're the reason my father now hates me more. I hope you're happy now? If only you had shut your mouth. But no, you decided to act like the perfect one," Dexter ranted. It was just a matter of time before he started crying. What he felt inside of him was stronger than pain.
Seeing how heartbroken Dexter was, Doctor Escobar stayed calm. He wasn't making a move to retrieve the bunch of keys from Dexter.
Slowly, Kelly leaned forward in an attempt to embrace Dexter. "Son, please,"
With a move too fast, Dexter waved it off. "Don't you dare call me your son.
I am not your son and will never be. My life wasn't a bed of roses but the moment you came into the picture, you worsened it, complicated and meaningless. I haven't felt this disorganized before. What's your mission to my family? You want some part of my Father's wealth?'
"Hell no," he debunked.
"Why would I want to do that?
I am not even related to your father.
I am pretty sure he's got other family members to include in his will," Kelly exempted himself from the family's business real quick. He knew that Dexter's question was a tricky one, and he wasn't willing to fall for it.
"I see,"
Dexter placed his hand below his jawline, thinking about his next question. He now understood how smart Kelly was. He wants to be more clinical in his next move.
"If you are here for those things I just mentioned, why are you here? You know I could hurt you for what you did, don't you?"
