Rosalie’s POV
I remained silent as Sia cried her heart out, guilt clawed at my insides thinking if I had gotten to that cell early.
No... if I never met Melody at all, maybe she would still be alive. Her sister would have gotten to her and not bear this loss.
Her whole body shook violently with each tear, how long had she been holding back these tears.
Hesitantly, I slowly reached out aiming to support her, a finger barely grazed her when she slapped my hand away.
She shook her head, hot tears still cascading down her cheeks. “I...I don’t need your sympathy” she choked out, her breath catching with each syllable.
I stayed silent, letting her grieve, I understood her hostility but wished she could see I was not her enemy.
Sia’s sobs eventually softened, then she wiped at her face with the back of her arm, her expression tight again.
“Don’t look at me like that,” she said, her voice hoarse.
I didn't know how to respond so I just kept quiet, hating how uncomfortable it was.
