Five minutes to three o’clock in the afternoon…
Five kids sat around the table as they waited for the arrival of Daniel. They had purposely come early because they believed in the element of surprise. They wanted to catch the man off guard, lest he takes them as a joke.
Carl looked down at his watch as he counted the remaining seconds.
“Ten, nine, eight…”
Clarissa looked at her brother and frowned, “What if he is only late by a few seconds, will we leave?”
“Yes, he had made things difficult for Mommy so we are not going to make it easier for him.”
“But if we leave, he will never apologize to Mommy.”
“He will look for us.”
