Finally. That bitch was gone.
It took a lot of convincing, but it finally paid off.
The day they sent her away was one of the happiest days of my life. Watching her being carted off like some broken thing — pathetic and lifeless — was more satisfying than I expected.
But the satisfaction didn’t last. Even with her gone for treatment, Dante’s thoughts and actions still revolved around her.
He spent most of his days visiting her — sitting by her side like some loyal dog — and it annoyed the hell out of me.
