Pounding... great and heavy pounding.
I am vaguely aware of something pounded in the far distance and it took me a while to realize that pounding is coming from my head.
Grudgingly, I peel my eyes open only to shut them immediately. The blind light of the sun peaking down at me through my window curtain disarmed me for a few minutes, a splitting headache have me clutching my head in pain.
With a painful hiss, I slowly open my eyes, taking care to move my face away from the source of the light above me. I blinked, succeeding at rolling over to the edge of the bed before stepping down, one foot at a time.
Heading for the bedroom, I pull off my clothes and step into the bathtub, trying to recall the event of last night.
The more I rack my brain to recall what happened to me and how I got home, the more the pain increases—turning into an incessant throb.
I huffed, frustrated that nothing is coming to me.
