Jessica thought her life was stuck between two places full of hurt and doubt. On one side was Kevin, her man who she had once ͏cared for, but now he was just a ghost of the person he used to be. On the other side was hope for a brighter tomorrow, far from all this pain.
Kevin's look, full of envy and ownership, just made her more upset. “You don’t get it, Jessica” he said his voice shaking. “I feel in danger; when Maudy came, all changed.”
Jessica felt she was smiling in a sarcastic way. “You say I don’t get it, but I’m the one with all this inside me. While you pay attention to Maudy, I’m feeling hurt that can’t be said.” She let out a breath, trying not to cry. “I can't continue living like this Kevin." We no longer love each other.
