Chelsey sighed helplessly.
"I hope you can live a good life and be happy every day, even without me by your side."
"I'm not happy if you're not with me."
Lucas understood the depth of her feelings based on these few sentences.
He wrapped his arms around her and said, "I know you don't love Timothy. You don't have to stay with him just because of your child. Trust me, I'll treat your child as my own."
Despite his words, Chelsey pushed him away. A wave of emotions washed over him when he noticed how calm and indifferent she looked.
"Chelsey?"
"I've lost interest in men, and I don't want to marry anyone anymore," she told him.
"Being single feels great. I can raise my child and give him all the love he needs."
