A strange sensation crawled over my skin, dragging me out of sleep. It wasn’t the soft brush of the sheets or the warmth of my own body heat, it was something else. A foreign tingling, sharp and deliberate, moved over my skin like a whisper laced with warning.
Another sharp sting sliced across my chest.
I gasped, my body jerking awake, my eyes flying open to the blue-lit room.
