Are they kidding me right now?
Across the street, the boys looked like they’d just walked off a movie set—one that ended in a bar fight.
Luke had a black eye. Damon’s knuckles were bloody. Jeremy sat on the hood of the car with an ice pack pressed to his cheek.
And Killian—
My eyes scanned the group.
He wasn’t there.
Where the hell was he?
“Come on,” Stella said, tugging at my arm. Her voice was low but urgent. “Let’s cross.”
I followed her without thinking, my stomach tightening with every step. I didn’t care about Damon’s busted hand or Luke’s stupid grin like he thought it was all a joke. I didn’t care that Jeremy winced when he shifted the ice pack.
I only cared about the one person who wasn’t standing there.
There were a few cops still lingering, one of them scribbling something onto a notepad. An ambulance was just pulling away, Whatever had happened, it was over and definitely intense
