Ethan looked like he was about to burst into tears.
Between his endless pacing and heavy sighs, it was very obvious that he was seconds away from breaking down.
"What did they say the problem is?" I asked as I placed my hand on his shoulder.
He paused and took another deep breath before speaking.
"The bank has repossessed my house and for some reason nobody is giving me any clear reasons as to why that happened," he rubbed his forehead in frustration and sighed heavily.
I gently caressed his back and rested my head on his chest. "We're going to figure this out, okay?"
"Yeah," he muttered but I could easily sense his doubt.
This situation was huge and it was even worse because there was no one to explain what exactly was going on.
Ethan’s phone rang and his face finally lit up.
"It's the bank," he said, showing me the caller ID on his phone.
I sighed in relief. Everything was okay.
