KAHLAN AND DAMON
"Yeah mom," Damon responded to his mothers call, eyes staring into the darkness of Kahlan's backyard, "I'm going to be working a lot. Yeah. Alright mom, get some sleep. I love you too. Good night." He hung up the phone, setting it beside a pile of unopened mail on the dresser. I lay in bed, under the covers, waiting for him. He closed the bedroom door and removed his shirt, climbing into the bed beside me. I looked ahead, while he stared at me. "What did you want to talk about?" I took a deep breath before facing him.
"Ryan Wingo," I answered. "I'm ready to talk about him." I paused, waiting for his response before I continued. He gave a nod, indicating he was ready to hear me. "I met him like two years ago.
