‘The restaurant was just as I had seen on the internet. Thank heavens I dressed well.’ I thought, smoothing the nonexistent crease in my dress as the waiter led me to a reserved table. The place is not too fancy, and my simple, semiformal dress made me blend in.
‘I don’t get it. Why does Sebastian Warner want to see? Is it about his sister’s wedding?’
That question had run through my mind probably a million times since he called me the previous morning, but I still hadn’t gotten the answer. He hadn’t mentioned why and only asked we met at a restaurant, leaving me guessing. He had absolutely no business with me.
The only reasonable conclusion I could come up with was he wanted to talk about Bianca’s wedding, but that didn’t just feel right.
