“I know it’s hard to believe what I’ve told you, but if you don’t believe me, I also have evidence that can confirm that everything I’ve told you is true,” Dad said when he saw me puzzled and disbelieving in his words.
He went to his room and came back with a box he handed me.
“You can keep it as long as you like. Here you will find all the evidence and answers you need to our painful past,” he continued.
I took the box and placed it on the table. I wasted no time and opened it. Impatience crept in as my schedule grew tighter, leaving no room for waiting. I was so eager to find out what that tumultuous past was, or rather, I was curious to see if that stranger was telling the truth or just wanting to lure me with lies.
Though my hands were shaking hard, and my heart almost wanted to burst out of my chest. I took a deep breath of air and pulled everything I could find out of the box. There were a lot of pictures of my young mother and Kevin’s father in there, news clippings from
