Somewhere in the distance was a private plane that seemed to wait for us. As much as I wanted to find out what all the madness and chaos were about, at that moment, I could neither open my mouth nor think straight. That infernal trap racked all my thoughts, to which I found no sense.
I pushed on with difficulty until I was halfway between the car and the plane. I saw a well-built man walking towards us.
“I’m Frank, a friend of Clark, Emily’s brother-in-law,” the man said as he extended his hand in greeting.
When I heard “Emily,” all my numb body functions woke up to reality.
“Emily is safe and well, as is the rest of her family. Gaby and Clark listened to my advice and were now with Clark’s parents. No one will bother them there. Luiza was stubborn. I hope she does nothing stupid and stays where I sent her,” the man continued.
