As the students lingered in the Great Hall after Professor Lysander’s announcement, the atmosphere was electric. Stories of trials were exchanged, laughter rang out, and bonds began to form among the different groups.
Anna, Logan, Mia, and Ryan sat at their table, still processing everything.
“I can’t believe the maze conjured doppelgängers,” Mia said, turning to Seren from Team Umbra, who sat nearby. “That must have been terrifying.”
Seren smirked, leaning back in her chair. “Terrifying, yes. But also... enlightening. Facing yourself forces you to confront truths you’d rather avoid.”
Logan leaned forward, intrigued. “Like what?”
Seren hesitated, then shrugged. “Let’s just say the maze reminded me of mistakes I need to fix. What about you guys? Did the Trial of the Mirrors freak you out?”
Anna exchanged a glance with her team before nodding. “It wasn’t easy. The mirror showed us... possibilities. What we could become if we let fear or power consume us.”
