As the words left the doctor's mouth. Alexander felt like his heart shattered into a million pieces.
The pain was too much for him to handle. He felt like he is losing the ability to breathe.
Not able to hold the tears brimming his eyes, he left the place without a word ignoring the sobs of Mrs.Brooke, not giving an ear to Ava's calls.
He was numb. Exiting he saw Thomas ready to open the doors.
"Keys.." seeing the look of coldness on his face Thomas didn't dare to protest. He was worried but reluctantly gave the keys.
Starting the car Xander speeded opposite to the place that shattered his heart.
He was breaking all the speed limits wanting the adrenaline rush to take all his pain away.
He knew Iris was special to him but she would become this important to him that thinking of a life without her seemed impossible. He felt like something inside him died. Or as if someone is nailing his heart with a thousand nails.
