The moon hung lower than usual—fat, silver, and too quiet for comfort. The kind of night that made you feel watched.
I stared at my palm, the faint, glowing crescent mark etched in the center, still shimmering with cold. It hadn’t stopped since I collapsed earlier—hadn’t even dimmed. Like a timer counting down to something I didn’t understand.
