I felt Genevieve move closer, her hand gentle as it rested on my shoulder. The atmosphere in the room was heavy with sorrow, every person fully aware of the sadness lingering between us. As Jacob rose to go speak with Asher, Margot stepped in, wrapping her arms tightly around me. That nearly shattered my composure.
