~Marcie~

I stepped into Kingston Enterprise, my heart beating rapidly, racing with excitement. I know this wasn't my first time, but this is my first day of work.

I know if my dad hears about me working here, he's going to freak out. Freeze my account and force me to come back home, but then I'm confident that that man won't know a shit about me working here, and I'm also doing him a favor.

My supervisor was a lady in a corporate red gown and her hair packed in a neat bun. Her lips a shade of red and her body, adorned with a trinket, earrings, and a necklace, walked majestically in my direction.

She greeted me warmly, “Welcome to Kingston Enterprise, Emily.”

Jade, I figured that her name on the tag, led me to where my table was in the office. My eyes blazed proudly when I saw a brand-new computer on my desk and a stunning view of the city.

My hands felt itchy, ready to start working on this beautiful computer, which looked yummy to the eyes.

“This will be your table for the next few months; you'll be handling level one support calls, troubleshooting, and resolving basic issues. If you have any issues, my table isn't far from yours,” she said, and I nod my head eagerly, taking in every word.

“Alright,” I responded, and she smiled. Jade introduced me to my other colleagues; they all acknowledged me nicely, which was cool for a good start.

Just as I was about to land my butt on the chair and start working on my computer, Jade called me.

“I want you to deliver this to the CEO’s office,” she requested, handing me a document.

My eyes widened, “The CEO?” I asked to be sure.

“Yes, he needs this report for an urgent meeting,” she responded.

I never expected to meet the CEO this soon. Yes, I was curious what kind of guy could get my dad so worked up. I wonder who Darren Morgan was. I've only seen him on screen, but there was little about him on the internet; he made me curious though.

“Okay.”

Jade pointed in the hallway. “His office is on the top floor; you can take the elevator,” she directed. I took a deep breath, clutched the documents closer to my chest, and headed to the elevator.

The CEO’s office wasn't hard to find; I walked quickly and knocked on the closed door twice and then opened it. Before I could even access my environment, I was pinned to the wall.

A huge bulky man with beautiful slick platinum blonde hair pinned me to the wall. His eyes were ethereal; they were a darker shade of brown, but yet it was alluring to me. My heart skipped a beat or two while I was afraid of closing my eyes, thinking I would miss a lot of things if I did.

I could hardly breathe as I took in every single detail of his features; his nose was sharp and pointed like an aristocratic British prince; his lips were designed as masterpieces ready to be kissed; and his jaws were sharp and well-structured. I had the urge to check out his other physique, but there was something about his eyes that sparked something within me.

He gazed at me like I'm the only thing in this world; I gulped down nothing. This man is drop-dead gorgeous—no, that's an understatement.

He is like a league on his own; I could call him the god of beauty.

A species that just came down to show us humans what beauty is. Never in my entire life have I ever seen such a creative piece.

God really calmed down to create him.

He leaned close to me and sniffed my neck; the documents I held fell when he said, “Mate!”

My eyes widened, my lips slightly parted, but no sound came out. Heck, words were far away from my mouth; it was as if I was mute.

His voice.

No goddammit, this guy here is—

He stepped back, giving space between us. His once filled with excitement gaze was replaced with anger and annoyance, and that jolted me back to the present.

“What do you want?” he queried in an authoritative tone, and I sent him a questioning look.

Who was he to talk me down like that?

I came here for the CEO, and this good-looking Godforsaken man here just came out of nowhere to talk rudely at me, and that got me annoyed.

Every single light that sparkled within me was replaced with anger.

I pointed at the documents on the floor, “Pick these up and give them to Mr. Darren. This document is urgent; just arrange it and place it on the table,” I snapped at him, sending him a dirty glare.

Forget about his sultry structure and those broad shoulders calling me in to touch—or the abs hidden underneath the white shirt he wore; he is just one thing—a sole loser who thinks he can bewitch people with his look and intimidating aura.

I hate men that are proud and that makes me feel sick.

“Make sure to learn some manners, Mister; you really need it,” I said and stormed out of the office. Immediately, I got out of the office, raced to the elevator, and clicked on button number three.

I held my chest, which was beating so fast that I felt it would burst out soon. The elevator bell rang—good timing. I rushed to the ladies' room and entered the toilet.

I breathed in and out multiple times before I could get my rhythm back. Once I was done, I came out of the toilet and then went to the basin to wash my hands and sanitize it. I looked at my reflection in the mirror, and damn, it feels as if I just came out of a haunted house.

I arranged my hair and clothes and left the ladies' room. A smile curved on my lips as I maintained my posture, using every single thing to forget about the drop-dead gorgeous man I met in Mr. Darren's office.
