-Emmet-
When we reached Ems' house, I was already shaking with so much anger. I pray to all that’s holy that my sister is fine because I don’t know what I would do if she isn’t.
I didn’t wait for Garret to park properly. The moment he stopped, I was already out of the car. I rushed to the front door, but it was closed. I remember Ems telling me about an extra key that she hides on a potted plant by the porch.
I rushed there to retrieve it, just in time for Garrett to arrive.
My hands were shaking as I tried to open the door. Garrett took the keys without a word and opened the door for me. Once inside, I called my sister’s name to find out where she was.
“Ems,” I shouted as I ran inside.
“Here,” Ems replied. I could hear the pain in her voice. I rushed to where she was and found her at the foot of the stairs.
“Ems,” Seeing her unable to move made my heart sink. I check her, trying to see the damage, but Ems doesn’t want to look at me.
“Ems,” I said softly but also frustratedly.
