Marco's POV
Ding.
It was the 12th floor and the elevator announced the destination with the chime.
I got out and entered the hotel’s corridor.
Holding the key card tightly, I stopped to check the number on it.
It matched with the door's number painted in gold. I slid the key into the slot. The light blinked green.
The door clicked open.
I walked in and a woman jerked up. She was in a mad uniform and had rubber gloves on. She was startled and her eyes widened.
“Sorry,” I apologized quickly, entering the room. “I'm the new occupant of the room.”
I raised the card to show my point. “You can finish what you're doing. I'll give you a moment.”
She relaxed a little. “It's alright. I'm almost done.”
She smiled, but it was weak.
With a nod, I turned back and left the room before closing the door.
Then my gaze fell to my watch. I had very few minutes before I lost my chance to find my target.
