SIGIL'S POV

I lost sight of Valeria and now I'm worried as hell. I made sure to quietly follow her after she got mad at me. I got distracted by another sound in the woods that made me alert for our safety and looking back in her direction she was no more there. The rain made it worse as it was difficult to continue under it.

The rain finally stopped and the little traces of the steps I used earlier to track her down were covered by the rain. The frustration I felt was on another level, if she were to get hurt or worse I wouldn't forgive myself at all.

I continued searching for her until I heard the sound of horses, to be safe I found a place to hide until whoever was coming passed. To my surprise, it was Rufus and his men. Did the king send them to search for us? I wanted to come out of hiding, but I remembered how Valeria was convinced that he wanted to harm her, and thus I refrained from coming out.
